1. TITLE OF THE PROJECT::

"CHEMICAL STORE & SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SYTEM"

2. INTRODUCTION:

Today Business Institutions are high -tech public relation and

econom ic management system. At present days most of them need a speedy
and ef f icient syst em to f inish daily activit y such as new customer
inf ormation, sale - pur chase activit y, working staff manag ement etc. till today
some of the chemical home and hospital maint aining their daily act ivit y
manually or some are using old comput er based system which ar e became
obsolete as compared to today’s technolog y so to over come this pr oblem
which are f acing by dif f erent health cent er in around Guwahati cit y we have
proposed to reinvest igate the system to develop a modernize computer base
chemical stor e management system.

W e have visited so many private and government Chem ical stores in

and around Guwahat i cit y f rom where we collect the data about what kind of
system they wer e using to maintain the whole dat a about t he chemicals f or
medical purpose, industrial purpose and lab ser vice they have. The system
they are using not a user f riendly and eff icient. Dat abase management
system use to handle day to day data and previous data is not up to date.
The exist ing system is bound to some particular system of activit y only or
some of them are not using proper user interf ace f or output, input and
reporting.

So overcome t his above problem we have proposed to design a user

f riendly Chemical Store & Supply m anagement syst em having moder n
database at back end. W e have pr oposed to develop computer base
Chem ical St ore Management database system using MySql in back and Java
Swing in Front End .
3. OBJECTIVE:

“THE CHEMIC AL STORE & M AN AG EMENT SYSTEM” is designed to

achieve the f ollowing objectives:

I. The whole system should be menu dr iven and the main menu should
be displayed automatically as soon as the user logon succeeds.
II. The sof tware must have a user -f riendly interf ace and appealing
appearance to ease the work of the end users.
III. The sof tware should have a data entr y interf ace f eature so t hat f irm
could be able to do manage data entr y perf ectly.
IV. The sof tware must be able t o ret urn t he actual pat ient’s stat us of the
hospital, i.e., it must be able to say how much money is lef t in the
wallet of the f irm and how much it could spend on dif f erent business
activities.
V. The new system must be designed to allow the f irm to record the
details of its customers, daily supplier pr oduct details, sale -purchase
invoices, report and accounts. The system should be able to
generate dif f erent report of the system.
VI. The sof tware should be able to record all deals & bills and relat ed
details made by stor e.
VII. The sof tware must be able to return report of ever y head.

Above all, the sof tware system should be able t o

eliminate all the paper work required in implem enting the task of data
maintenance, which previously was tedious, time consuming and error prone.

The objective of this syst em can be sum marized as,

“To provide such kind of platf orm where the hospital can increase their
growth and market strength through the optim izat ion in t ime and man power
with the help of proposed system. ” Also the hospital can better target to
their goals through the various t ypes of reports and charts generated by the
system.
1- It helps the management of f inance and gives exact f inancial position of
the store according to rules and regulation.

2- It helps in management of patients and it is ver y use f ul f or perf orming

other chem ical reagent related operat ions.

3- It makes customer's management very easy f or store with its customer

management module.

W ith the above discussion a conclusion is

drawn that all the components which are covered by this sof tware is ver y
usef ul f or “THE CHEMIC AL STO RE & M AN AG EM ENT SYSTEM” and all
medical and chemical stor e related f irms f or smooth working and helps their
business a lot.

4. PROJECT CATEGORY:
My project falls under the category –

“Relational Database Management System (RDBMS)”

A relational database management system (RDBMS) has the following properties:

 Represents data in the form of tables

 Does not hard-code relationships between tables

 Doesn't require the user to understand its physical implementation (data

abstraction concept
 Provides information about its contents and structure in system tables
 Can be manipulated through SQL commands
 Supports the concept of NULL values
5. Tools/Platform,Hardware and Software Requirement Specification:
 Tools:

Front End: Java Swing

Back End: MySql Server.

Developing Environment : Java NetBean 7

 Platform: Windows NT/XP/Win 7

 Hardware Requirement specification:

1. Processor: Pentium IV or higher processor

2. Memory Size: At least 2 GB or more disk storage space.

3. RAM: 512 MB or more.

Man Power: A Qualified computer professional with appropriate knowledge of GUI, Java and
SQL Server is sufficient

6. PROPOSED PROCESS MODULES :

1. Supplied Product Information.

2. Customer Information.

3. Product Information.

4. Order Process

5. Billing.

6. Reports
7. ADVANTAGES OF THE PROPOSED SYSTEM:
Since in this system day-by-day new categories products are added and updated,
customers get wide variety of choices to select their most essential products. They can
register a business account and start business record such sale purchase record on daily
basis. Their orders are sent to them after successful receipt of the DD/Cheque. Or if they
have chosen for a cash payment then they can pay after the order is delivered to them. This
system provides security for the customers to some extent. Nobody but himself can see
their order details. Also their transaction documents are easily process within short notice
with taxation.

8. CONCLUSION
From the above observation made in the feasibility study, it is recommended that the
proposed system is feasible and justified that the feasible study could be followed by the
system analysis and system design phase. This will be acceptable by the chemical store
institution within their feasible capacity to run their organization with the proposed system.
