The language that opens up the world and I am taking English, today English has
developed all over the world . English is the one of the most important language
today to connect with different parts of world , not only to connect with
different parts of world but also English is becoming important to connect with
people within the same country also, in other words we can say English is
important for inter- state communications . English language is widely used in
official communications. English also plays important role in student’s
education, today where ever we go to any college or any school without knowing
English it is very difficult to adjust and to communicate, even in IITs , NITSs and
other engineering colleges all lectures are in English , different inter college
programs or if student have to take part in college of different country knowing
English is very important , it helps us to connect with them. Large number of
books are in English not only school books but all engineering books are in
English. It is very important in today world to know English to connect to
different people across the world . Students who want to go abroad for
education will have learn to English well. If their command over English is poor,
then they may face difficulty in adjusting with the alien environment. The
communication of India with other countries takes place in English language. For
a developing country like India, it is essential to be in constant intercourse with
other countries. English is also important for putting your first impression as it
is well said that first impression is last impression, if your English is good you will
have a good impression on others and will help you to easily connect with
different people all across the globe. English also helps us to know and
understand different cultures across the globe, this will help you to connect
more effectively. People of different states cannot understand their local
languages so English helps them to connect with each other, for different inter-
state competitions in India English is very important. So English is very important
to open up with the world.

English is the third most widespread native language in the world, after Standard
Chinese and Spanish. It is the most widely learned second language and is either
the official language or one of the official languages in almost 60 sovereign
states. There are more people who have learned it as a second language than
there are native speakers. English is the most commonly spoken language in the
United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand,
and it is widely spoken in some areas of the Caribbean, Africa and South Asia. It
is a co-official language of the United Nations, of the European Union and of
many other world and regional international organisations. It is the most widely
spoken Germanic language, accounting for at least 70% of speakers of this Indo-
European branch. English has a vast vocabulary, and counting exactly how many
words it has is impossible.

Modern English grammar is the result of a gradual change from a typical Indo-
European dependent marking pattern with a rich inflectional morphology and
relatively free word order, to a mostly analytic pattern with little inflection, a
fairly fixed SVO word order and a complex syntax. Modern English relies more
on auxiliary verbs and word order for the expression of complex tenses, aspect
and mood, as well as passive constructions, interrogatives and some negation.
Despite noticeable variation among the accents and dialects of English used in
different countries and regions – in terms of phonetics and phonology, and
sometimes also vocabulary, grammar and spelling – English-speakers from
around the world are able to communicate with one another with relative ease.

English language is widely used in official communications. The abolition of

English will adversely affect the office work. Most office-goers know English, but
many of them do not know other languages besides their mother-tongue or
regional language. Thus, they communicate with each other in English for their
everyday work. So, if the office-goers are asked to bid goodbye to the English
language, they will face a great difficulty.

The importance of English in education and student’s life cannot be denied.

English remains a major medium of instruction in schools. There are large
number of books that are written in English language. If English is abolished
today, it will affect the education system in India. So, unless and until we
translate these books into various regional languages, it will affect education.
But this work is very hard and time-consuming indeed.
Students who want to go abroad for education will have learn to English well. If
their command over English is poor, then they may face difficulty in adjusting
with the alien environment.

The communication of India with other countries takes place in English

language. For a developing country like India, it is essential to be in constant
intercourse with other countries.

English is an important language for inter-state communications. Modern India

has many large States. People of each State converse in their own language and
often cannot speak or understand the regional language of other people. In such
cases, English becomes the link between these people. So, here too we cannot
deny the importance of English in modern India.

The first and most immediate effect of English fluency is that you can
communicate with people from different cultures, and this alone will transform
your perspective. Nothing can replace communication, which is the gateway to
true human connection and relationship. Not travel, not education, not
intelligence, and not even good information can replace this.

When you truly connect with people from other cultures, you are exposed to
the naked truth, which forces you to challenge the beliefs and stereotypes
you’ve inherited from your culture and put yourself in their shoes. This makes
it increasingly hard to project your fears and misconceptions on others, and you
realize that other people from other religions, cultures, and backgrounds are not
as different as you once thought.

In fact, your conception of “they” as an external group of people that is different

from you starts to dissolve and turn into a “we” that you can identify with. This
happens through personal and professional contact, as well as being exposed
and enriched by other aspects of different cultures, such as music, food and
customs. These are all very significant experiences, but the key that opens the
door is speaking the same language.
From fluent communication and human connection flows a direct experience
and understanding of all the different cultures you encounter on your path. This
allows you to break out of a restricted, one-dimensional worldview and start to
include perspectives that may not seem so apparent to you.

Your first impression may be that people from other cultures and perspectives
are different, or even weird, but soon you realize that we actually have a lot in
common. This may happen early or later on depending on your age and
maturity, but if you are willing to keep going, meeting people, learning, and
opening your heart and mind up to the world, it will gradually transform you.

The impact is huge! First of all, you start to appreciate the uniqueness of not
only other cultures, but also of your own.

Although you see that your nation is just one of many and not the absolute
reality you previously thought, you discover the uniqueness of your culture and
reflect back upon it with much more awareness. This results in a more balanced
perspective that permits you to recognize both the positive and the negative
inherent in all cultures.
