It wasn't intended as spam. It was intended as a response to the ASEA note. ASEA
can result in increased oxidative stress, which is exactly what we're trying to
reduce. So, I wanted to make sure to illuminate the other side of the note that
was sent. No offense Gabby. And, no spam intended. We haven't personally tried
OSR1, but we've read a lot about it. It is effective and targeted specifically t
o our little guys. We know many people who have replaced OSR1 with Protandim and
had better results for less money. We do Protandim. I've not tried ASEA. So, as
always, consider the source. I'm just a mom with 2 of 3 kids on the ASD, trying
to make alternative ends meet.

Not ignoring here, I've been pulling up and reviewing my research info. I've mad
e a file to send the group some good research info on the different systems & th
eir claims....this is some of the info that ultimately had me stick with the Kan
gen as being the best...so it's the Kangen that I've been using & saving for mys
elf.
As far as the Alkalization/ Ionization in and of itself I still think Kangen has
the best machine (& the best track record...they are built to last, still that
I can tell the highest ORP, and the most plates for a better/longer water treatm
ent). Many of the other machines have important things like hard water (most of
America) & more than 2 1/2 gallons a day end up breaking their warranties (see i
nfo I will send next).....
BUT the additional benefit of Amized Fusion Technology® (AFT) Zero Point Energy wi
th the new AMwater is what is additionally attracting me to this system. No othe
r system has this additional patented benefit..... and the info on this is what
has placed this system so high for me.
So to me, side-by-side comparisons without the AFT would place the Kangen on top
(ORP/tests have shown -900mV for up to 56 hours with the Kangen).....
BUT with the AFT, I have to admit, the AMwater goes on top for me. It is so new
I do not know anyone that has it yet to even get feedback. What I would like to
see next is an in home ORP & Alkaline tests just like the one that I'm going to
post next comparing in home the ORP & alkalinity (I just don't trust marketing..
. .but I do trust in home analysis & MTing...and that means MTing after 1/2 a da

With as much benefit that I've seen from the Kangen, both from my family (especi
ally my son including 6mo benchmark labs), my mom instinct is still sticking wit
h this water....and that now includes adding the AFT benefits. I'm not going to
say at this point that Kangen or AMwater is better than one another, I believe t
his should be a personal/family decision based on individual needs/research.
I am still saving for a system and hope to get one a few months from now....and
myself am now leaning toward the AFT/AMwater. ...but I'm ever greatful for the K
angen water that I've been able to enjoy from my dear friend since Dec (I've bee
n over to her house/or her to mine/every 2 days for some of her Kangen water, it
's a commitment to better health!!)
For additional high level filtration, in my research both systems have talked ab
out the KDF filter. I highly recommend for all of our families (especially our k
ids that don't excrete toxins well for both the Kangen or AMwater) to invest in

Great story from one of our team member friends who bought a Tyent
My Experience With pH Water & Water Ionizers:
I was sold on the science and the benefits of elevating our body's pH level seve
ral years ago.
After doing my own extensive research on the subject, I discussed it with my sis
ter who was both a senior nurse practitioner and a chemist.
She concurred that by whatever method you can raise your body's pH level from ac
idic to alkaline, be it through diet or drinking alkaline water, it would be a g
ood thing for maintaining a healthy body.
A few years ago I tried a product called Miracle II Neutralizer which was a high
pH solution that typically sold in gallons for 20 some dollars per gallon.
Although I believed in the science and theory behind the product, I never experi
enced or found any credible evidence that it helped in any way.
As I recently found out about Kangen Water and other ionized alkaline water, I d
iscovered the problem with the Miracle II Neutralizer was that it did not have a
low negative ORP (oxidation-reductio n potential). Without a low ORP factor the
high pH-alkaline and anti-oxidant benefits could not be realized.
So my conclusion was that you had to have both a high pH- alkaline water that al
so has a low (-300mV to -700mV) ORP.
The other method would be to only eat high alkaline foods, like certain berries,
nuts and dark green leafy stuff, and no good stuff at all like meat, fish, poul
try and potatoes. It didn't sound like an appetizing diet to me, so I chose to g
o the water route.
Sooo, my good friends Steve & Pam Hoyt started to bring me jugs of "Kangen" Wate
r.
After drinking it for a while I quickly saw results. I felt better overall both
physically and mentally. I had more energy and was much more mentally astute.
I had had arthritis in one ankle, one knee and one shoulder for years and I noti
ced that they all improved also.
But perhaps most important to me is the Kangen Water's potential to benefit my l
ong term health, such as possibly lowering the risk factor for many diseases and
sicknesses.
Well, even though my friends would have brought me all the Kangen Water I wanted
indefinitely, I decided that I just had to have one of these water machines of
my own.
I knew that the Enagic Kangen Water ionizer was expensive, so I did extensive re
search on alternative (less expensive) ionizer machines.
That turned out to be a huge mistake.
There is an enormous amount of seemingly "unbiased" information, test comparison
s (with videos) and supposedly unbiased reviews all over the internet.
The bulk of these reviews compare one or more ionizers to the Enagic Leveluk SD5
01. They always point out that, although the Enagic ionizer is a great unit, it
is over priced due to the MLM compensation plan to their distributors. The truth
is that at least several of the other leading ionizer manufacturers have an eve
n steeper compensation plan for their "referral distributors" . I didn't know an
y of this at the time of my initial research, so I bought into their claims and
"drank the koolaid" so-to-speak.
After all my research, I ended up purchasing a Tyent MMP-7070, their top-line io
nizer unit. It had consistently beaten the competition, including Jupiter, Life
and, of course, the Enagic.
The Tyent MMP-7070
It was a very sleek looking attractive ionizer which was roughly half the price
of the Enagic Leveluk SD501 so I initially thought I had made the right decision
.
I set it up and started using it and at first I only had a pH test kit with drop
s in order to test the machines capability. I didn't have any means of testing t
he ORP factor.
The pH test left me wondering because the results were not what I expected, espe
cially in its ability to produce acidic (low pH) water.
I had wanted one any way to also help in maintaining my pool water, so I purchas
ed a Hanna Instruments electronic pH/ORP meter. Extremely accurate.
As I became more and more familiar with the machine I realized how easy it was t
o skew the results of the ionizer test comparisons, which were supposedly legiti
mate and unbiased, such as simply lowering the source water pressure for the uni
t that you want to have the best results. With a little bit of water pressure ma
nipulating, they could have made any one of the machines appear to be the best.
Anyway, I started testing my water with my accurate tester and confirmed my susp
icions.
With full tap water pressure, the highest alkaline pH water I could get was 9.0p
H with an ORP of -150mV, not very good at all.
The lowest acidic pH (beauty water) that I could get was 7.0pH, which is neutral
, not acidic at all. My tap water tested at 7.2pH.
Next, I lowered the water pressure down to the slowest the machine would allow a
nd retested.
The highest alkaline pH I got was 9.65pH.
The lowest acidic pH I got was still only 7.0pH, even with the lowered water pre
ssure.
Oh, and a couple of other notable facts:
1) The water pressure had to be reduced so much to make 9.5pH drinking water tha
t it would take over five minutes to fill a gallon jug.
2) The Tyent machine automatically shuts down after five minutes to prevent over
heating. Not so with the Enagic machine.
I contacted "Jim R." (no last name provided) at Tyent USA who was apparently the
one and only tech support person. I informed him of all the test results, along
with what method and test equipment I used.
He seemed to think that the numbers were abnormal, so he told me to email him th
e dates on the two filters in the unit.
I emailed him the filter dates, which were recent, and didn't get any response f
rom him, so I emailed them to him again. Still no response.
I got that uneasy feeling like he was avoiding me, so I called the tech support
number and Jim answered the phone.
At first he seemed surprised that I called him, but then acknowledged getting th
e email and forgetting about it. After a little resistance, he agreed to send me
a new machine and I would return the alleged defective machine.
The new machine arrived and I immediately set it up and re-did all my testing.
Almost identical numbers! Now I'm getting really perturbed and frustrated over t
his.
I've got a water ionizer machine, which is probably not defective at all, that y
ou have run the water pressure at a trickle to get acceptable drinking water and
it is totally incapable of producing any acidic water at all. But hey, it sure
does look sleek and nice though, doesn't it?
I called Jim again and he at first tried to blame my source water as the problem
and then he asks me "do you really need acidic (beauty) water anyway?"
I informed him that I live in a major city and that there is nothing wrong with
the city tap water that I'm using.
At that point I asked him very nicely if I could return the machine and get a re
fund. I was worried that he would say no due to the fact that my "trial period"
had just recently expired. He said that was not a problem and that I could retur
n it, but he pleaded with me to wait 2-3 weeks because Tyent was aware of this p
roblem and they were about to come out with a new "motherboard" for the machine
which should fix it. He also assured me that he would extend my trial period.
He just then acknowledged that Tyent was aware of this problem?
I stuck to my guns and said no to the wait, and that I just wanted to return it.
I wanted a water ionizer that performed as it was designed and advertised to pe
rform.
He gave in and said okay.
I then made about 12 gallons of water (yea, that took quite awhile) to tide us o
ver for some time and packed up the machine to return it the next day.
We went to dinner with our friends Steve & Pam (Enagic Distributors) and talked
about water, ionizers and my frustrating experience with the Tyent machine.
I was already pretty sure the Enagic Leveluk SD501 would perform as expected, bu
t after my experience, I wanted to be sure.
I asked them if they would bring their Enagic machine over to my house where we
could accurately test it using my source water, just in case there really was a
source water issue as they live in a different part of town than us.

So we finished dinner and they went home, loaded up their machine and brought it
over to our house.
We ran all the tests and sure as can be, The Enagic performed just as it should
and we were all happy that it did.
Sorry about my little puppy nipping your rear end Steve. :-D I guess we should h
ave paid him more attention.
So the conclusion was that there was nothing wrong with my source tap water.
The Tyent ionizer just could not do what it was supposed to do and the Enagic io
nizer had no problem.
I guess you really do get what you pay for.
As soon as I confirmed that Tyent was really going to refund my money, I called
Steve and Pam and ordered the Cadillac of water ionizers, the Enagic Leveluk SD5
01.
Tyent did end up issuing a refund, minus a $300 restocking fee.
I just feel badly for all the people who have bought these inferior water ionize
rs and don't even realize their machines are not performing as they think they a
re.
Thank God, I invested in that electronic pH/ORP tester that I did, or I probably
would not have realized it either.

The True Costs and Benefits of Water Ionizers Recently I have been asked to expl
ain the differences between Enagic's water ionizers and others on the market so
frequently that I decided to answer on paper so more of you would have access to
the research I have done over the course of the past 2 years. Since I joined En
agic in February 2005, I have been asked this question 10 or more times per week
. The more ionizing companies that begin distribution in the US, the more inform
ation pops up on the internet, and the more internet information that is publish
ed the more confusion there seems to be on the subject. This is actually a wonde
rful phenomenon. The more the concept of ionization becomes a well known process
, the easier it is to enter into a discussion about water ionization. It actuall
y paves the way to greater understanding in the general public. This is great ne
ws! Each time someone visits a site discussing pH or oxidation or ionization, th
ey receive some level of education in another way to assist them in living a mor
e health conscious lifestyle. These educational "bites" also mean that you have
less and less education to do to get your potential customer well informed on th
ese topics. Additionally, anyone who purchases any brand of water ionizer is mak
ing a positive impact on the environment. They are removing themselves from the
hoards of people overburdening the planet with mountains of plastic bottles. So
from an environmental standpoint all ionizers are one step closer to a cleaner p
lanet. However, as a consumer trying to educate themselves in order to make a wi
se purchase, there are many other things to consider. First and foremost, the ma
chine needs to fit the individual's needs, be built to last, and provide true he
alth benefits. Unfortunately, not all water ionizers are created equal, nor are
all manufacturers. Some companies are simply riding on the coattails of the well
respected Japanese companies and either inadvertently or purposefully misleadin
g the general public; while other companies are in this industry to stay. Kangen

To better explain this, let's use the automobile industry as an analogy. There a
re many types of motorized vehicles manufactured and sold with the general purpo
se of moving people from one place to another. These would include manufacturers
of luxury cars, farm trucks, and golf carts. Each of these devices has several
things in common:
1. They all have motors
2. They all have wheels
3. They all have seats
4. They all have the capability of moving people from one place to another
So theoretically, each could transport you from LA to New York City, however the
experience would be dramatically different. You can imagine that a cross countr
y trip in a golf cart is an attainable trip, but when travelling at the speed of
20 miles per hour it would take a very long time to arrive at your final destin
ation. Additionally, while travelling in your golf cart you would be exposed to
so many natural elements that you would arrive at your destination in less than
pristine condition. Now an old farm truck would be a big step up in speed and pr
otection from the elements, but the ride would still be a bit bumpy and likely n
ot entirely reliable. However, a cross country trip in a luxury car would be a t
rip one could look forward to taking. The ride would hold everything you were lo
oking for, speed, safety from the elements, comfort and reliability. This same c
oncept is also true of water ionizers. All ionizers are capable of restructuring
water. How much, how efficiently and how effectively the water is changed will
be dependent upon 2 things the quality and configuration of the electrical compo
nents and the composition of the filtration media. These factors encompass 90% o
f the differences from one manufacturer to another and should be the deciding fa
ctors in purchasing an ionizer. The additional 10% is simply price. Any prudent,
health conscious consumer will consider a water ionizer an investment in long t
erm health. Therefore it would be wise to choose a machine which is capable of p
roducing the best results over the longest period of time. To do less would simp
ly be throwing money away.
However, it has been increasingly difficult for consumers to make that determina
tion due to all of the distributor hype, false information and out and out lies
published on the internet. So it is my goal that this document provides Kangen W

distributors adequate explanations and information to assist true information se
ekers make informed decisions. Over the past two years I have noted that there s
eems to be a pattern in the questions that are asked repeatedly. Each time a new
or existing ionizing company rolls out a new product there is a flurry of excit
ement, a resurgence of poorly documented information and a lot of press released
on the subject of water ionizers. All of this new energy generally results in a
t least one new distributor who is on a mission. Unfortunately, the newest "expe
rt" generally has little or no real background to truly understand the chemistry
, physics and pathophysiology necessary to separate fact from fiction. When that
happens some new article is posted on a website that causes a stir. Newcomers t
o Enagic who are not accustomed to these attacks begin to get questions from pot
ential customers and are unsure how to answer them. I will attempt to remember a
ll of the questions since early 2005 and answer them to my fullest ability in th
is document. The two most frequently asked questions these days revolve around a
paid advertisement that a Jupiter distributor posted in early 2007. It poises i
tself as an article debunking the myths and facts around Kangen Water . In actuali
ty it is strictly an advertisement used by both Jupiter distributors and Life Io
nizer distributors. It is NOT an article written to lay out facts and myths it I
S a sales promotion piece. I am going to begin with that sales promotion piece.
In the following paragraphs the sales promotion article will appear in red while
my response will appear in black. Interspersed in the discussion I will include
information on various other water ionizing units as they relate to a particula
r topic. This article is written with the intention to address some of what is b
een said on other websites and in public meetings, so that customers wanting the
best value for their money, are able to make an informed opinion about "Kangen
water" without the hype. This article is nothing but "hype". The authors and Jup
iter distributors who sponsor this article actually pay a monthly fee to the sea
rch engines to have it appear in the colored box at the top of the page. Those s
pots are reserved for advertisers. From my vantage point very little of what has
been written is based on scientific fact or truth. Myth 1: Kangen water is diff
erent from alkaline, ionized water. Kangen Water Therapies, Copyright ©2007 4
Fact: The Enagic water ionizer contains a filter and ionizing chamber just like
all other water ionizers. Just to kick this discussion off, Kangen Water is a tra
demark owned by Enagic. It is Enagic's trademarked name for ionized, alkaline wa
ter with a high ORP or antioxidant potential. Enagic's water filters and plates a
re actually quite different from those used by all other water ionizing manufact
urers. These differences, which will be discussed in detail, do make a dramatic
difference in the quality of the water that is produced. Let's begin by discussi
ng the ionizing plates which make up the chambers. Electronically restructured,
ionized water is produced when water passes over electrically charged metal plat
es (a more complete explanation follows on the next page). It is an irrefutable
law of electricity, chemistry and physics that the higher the electrical voltage
a plate can sustain and the longer period of time water stays in contact with t
his voltage, the more complete the ionization process. So in terms of ionization
"bigger really is better." Enagic's LevLuk series utilizes 4 ¾ X 7 inch titanium
plates that are heavily coated with platinum. Unlike any other ionizing units av
ailable at this time, Enagic's LevLuk SD501 uses 7 of these plates. Other water
ionizers use much smaller and fewer plates (Fig. 1a & b, 2). Kangen Water Therap

plates that dictate the price of the machines. (A few months ago I actually wei
ghed the plates on a postal scale and Enagic's SD501 plates weighed 2.75 pounds.
) At this time platinum costs $1250/oz and titanium costs have dramatically incr
eased in the past 2 years with food grade titanium selling above $400/lb and med
ical grade above $1400/lb.
Last year the Jupiter Company ran a campaign that announced that "Bigger isn't B
etter!" This was a part of an advertising campaign to inform people Kangen Water

that they had developed a technique utilizing mesh, rather than solid, ionizing
plates to increase surface area without increasing plate size (Fig. 3). Figure 3
Jupiter's Mesh Plates This sounds reasonable to people who are not well informe
d on the subject of ionization. And it is a wonderful way for the manufacturer t
o save a lot of money in production. However, it has some very serious flaws. A
thorough explanation will take several paragraphs. Just so you won't get lost th
is text the explanation of ionization will appear in blue. As most of you alread
y know, ionization happens when water, HOH, dissociates into H+ and OH-. The mos
t efficient and effective way to accomplish this utilizes electricity. When elec
tricity passes through water this dissociation happens quickly. The greater the
electrical charge and the longer the water is exposed to this electrical charge,
the more complete the ionization. That is why water ionizing units use metal pl
ates. Metal plates conduct electricity, and that electrical charge is what cause
s the dissociation of the water molecules. This brings up several points to cons
ider:
1. Some metals are better electrical conductors than others. For instance, some
manufacturers use aluminum, stainless steel, copper, white gold or metallic allo
ys. The most reputable companies use titanium and platinum.
2. During the electrolysis process these metals give up varying amounts of their
metal into the water.
3. Titanium is chosen because it is a very dense metal. This makes it a good con
ductor of electricity over a very long period of time. Additionally, its density
keeps it from readily breaking down in water. That is one of the reasons it is
the preferred metal used in medical grade screws and pins to hold bones together
. However when it does break down, it is considered toxic to the body.

4. Platinum is chosen because, unlike titanium, in minute amounts it is actually
a trace mineral that has many health benefits.
5. The more heavily coated the plates, the longer it will take to break down the
platinum and expose the titanium. (Of course the heavier the coating, the great
er the manufacturing costs.)
These points are very important factors. Jupiter's mesh plates are made from tit
anium coated with platinum. While this mesh will conduct electricity, there are
3 distinct drawbacks to using wire mesh:
1. Wire mesh cannot conduct as high an electrical voltage as a solid piece of me
tal.
2. The higher the voltage passing through these mesh wires, the faster the metal
degradation.
3. This results in a machine that has a shorter useful life.
In other words, each time electricity passes through these wires that create the
mesh, more platinum is breaking down into the water. While that, in itself is n
ot harmful to the body, it means that the titanium will be exposed sooner and th
at is harmful to the body. That is the very reason that bigger, more dense titan
ium plates with a thick platinum coating offer a more effective long term soluti
on. These plates will consistently produce a more complete ionization process an
d will last much longer. Unlike any other company, Enagic offers a 5 year warran
ty because their units are made to last. Gold Fox Company utilizes white gold ra
ther than platinum. From the standpoint of durability, white gold is a much soft
er metal than platinum. Therefore as electricity flows through the plates the go
ld will rapidly break down exposing the platinum plates in a relatively short pe
riod of time. As pointed out in the paragraphs above, the coating medium provide
s a buffer to keep the titanium from coming into direct contact with the water.
The faster that buffer breaks down, the sooner the machine becomes a health liab
ility. Some Chinese and Korean ionizers have used stainless steel and aluminum i
n their ionizers. Utilizing these inferior and much less expensive metals in the
ionization process would create water that is actually hazardous to health. Kan

As I stated earlier, the most reputable manufacturers of water ionizing units al
l use titanium plates coated with platinum. The following is an excerpt from an
official LifeIonizer website: This continuous flow model is designed for counter
top applications and is constructed with two built in pre-filters that total 12
stages of filtration.

At this point I will address only the topics of pH and ORP. They boast producing
water that is the highest of any ionizer, but their range is pH 3.5-10. That st
atement is inherently flawed. If the highest pH it produces is pH 10.0 then the
lowest pH it can produce is pH 4. Remember pH is measured on a scale of 0-14. Th
is is a very simple mathematical exercise; add the pH number from the acid hose
to the pH number of the alkaline hose and the total will always be 14. This is j
ust a function of physics and chemistry. While official test data on the ORP rea
dings is not yet available, field testing in the Bay Area revealed low positive
ORP numbers when tested side by side with Enagic's SD501 which achieved high neg
ative numbers. This is in direct opposition to the statement above which claims
the "highest ORP Anti-Oxidant level of any Ionizer. Advertising and marketing hy
pe is one thing but misrepresentation of the facts to create a better market nic
he lacks integrity in the marketplace. The next topic of discussion is filtratio
n. While platinum coated titanium plates are unarguably the industry standard, d
ifferences in filtration styles and mediums have been used in an attempt to dist
inguish the companies from one another. This is one of the areas where manufactu
rers have made some wild claims about their filters. Filtration is a VERY IMPORT
ANT topic. The main job of any filtration medium should be to remove unwanted, p
otentially harmful debris and chemicals from the water without removing the mine
rals necessary for ionization. Kangen Water Therapies, Copyright ©2007 9
Enagic's filters accomplish this by using 3 components (Fig. 4, 5):
1. Calcium Sulfite (CaSO3) used for its biocidal or disinfecting properties a
2. Antibacterial granular activated carbon
3. Mechanical filter that filters to 5 microns

ere only 3 components, those listed above, nothing more, nothing less. In the ph
oto above the calcium sulfite and all of the granular activated carbon had been
removed, leaving only the mechanical filter. I have researched the official Jupi
ter website and spoken to several Jupiter distributors to get full disclosure on
the contents of their newest filtration media. Below you will see a diagram fro
m the official website. As you can see, Jupiter's filters use varying amounts of
Coral Calcium, Tourmaline, activated granular carbon and 4 layers of fiber filt
ers in the .1M filter. In the .01M filter as much as ¼ of the activated carbon has
been replaced by an ultra fine filter (Fig. 6). Kangen Water Therapies, Copyrig

ily. Coral Calcium: In the past, Jupiter called the coral calcium Biostone. Rece
ntly this has been revised and is now referred to in their literature by its act
ual name, coral calcium. Some of you may be unaware of the fact that in order fo
r minerals to be bio-available the human body they must come from a plant source
. Coral is not a plant, it is an animal. So, much like calcium from bovine sourc
es, it is not bio-available to be used by our bodies. So what becomes of that ex
cess calcium in our bodies it creates stones like kidney stones and gallstones;
it produces calcium deposits that can become bone spurs or joint deposits that c
reate painful joints. It can cause hypercalcemia which can lead to a whole host
of horrible symptoms including death.
On a less dramatic note, I have yet to find tap water in the US that doesn't alr
eady have too much calcium. This excess calcium creates lime deposits on our plu
mbing fixtures and can quickly coat our ionizing plates. This coating diminishes
the flow of electricity through the plates, resulting in incomplete ionization
of the water. When tap water is not completely ionized, many of the pollutants p
resent in the water are not separated out and end up in the drinking water. Tour
maline: One of the items they report is that tourmaline produces an electrical c
harge emitted into the water as far infrared energy. After a solid week of resea
rching tourmaline I have discovered many disturbing facts about this gem stone.
The list is quite extensive, so I am going to print it in blue again so that you
don't get lost.
1. Some tourmalines can produce an electrical charge, called pyroelectricity, wh
en the stones are heated. Under these circumstances the stones yield a positivel
y charged end and a negatively charged end.
This is a definite problem since the water passing through the units is cold rat
her than hot.
2. The other way to produce an electrical charge is to apply pressure to a tourm
aline crystal in the specific direction of the vertical crystal axis. The stones
in their official rendition of the filter are rounded pebbles. They do not appe
ar to be laid in a specific direction to expose the vertical axis. Additionally,
there is no pressure applied.
3. Tourmaline is comprised of many minerals which dissociate in water. Below is
a partial list of minerals as well as a few of their potential toxic side effect
s:
a. Sodium hypertension
b. Calcium kidney & gallstones, bone spurs
c. Lithium hallucinations
d. Iron heart disease, especially in men and post-menopausal women
e. Aluminum linked to Alzheimer's (upon autopsy Alzheimer's patients had 4 times
the accumulation of aluminum than considered normal)
f. Silicone excessive bruising, stomach irritation, rashes

g. Boron interferes with normal estrogen and testosterone hormone production & h
air loss
Micron Filter: At .01 micron filtration, too few minerals present for complete i
onization. Electrolysis requires adequate minerals. Too many or too few minerals
impede complete ionization. Once water begins to lack mineral content, it becom
es more acidic and more oxidizing. It will then lock on to any minerals it can.
It is reasonable to assume that this filtration process would encourage the tran
sfer of minerals from the coral calcium and the tourmaline into this filtered wa
ter. If these minerals could be utilized by the human body, this would be a grea
t big plus factor. However, since they are not bio-available to humans and can c
ause tremendous health risks, this is not a desirable feature. 12 Stage Filtrati
on: LifeIonizer, a Korean manufacturer, equips their units with 2 separate filte
rs. Each is billed as a 6-Stage filter. The official product specifications for
the filters are as follows: Specially devised, high quality 6 Stage filter: Life
Ionizers have the most comprehensive pre-filters available on the market today.
Each unit has two built in filters totaling 12 stages of filtration/treatmen t.
Stage 1 Pre Filter Relatively large contaminants such as sand, dirt, residue ar
e removed prevents Special Block Carbon Filter from being contaminated Stage 2 S
pecial block carbon filter Removes unpleasant tastes and odors, residual chlorin
e, environmental hormones which easily dissolves into water and trihalomethanes

Stage 5 CaSO3 H2O Adds alkaline minerals Stage 6 Silver-Added Active Carbon Pres
erves the beneficial alkaline minerals and removes unpleasant taste and odor fro
m water. As mentioned earlier, field testing 2 different LifeIonizer units produ
ced very dismal ORP results these readings were actually positive numbers I was
compelled by curiosity to determine what could create such appalling readings. A
filter set was purchased and dismantled to verify all 6 of the separate filtrat
ion medium specified on the website in an attempt to rule out the filtration as
the source of the problem. If it was just the filter, the problem could be easil
y solved by making a few minor adjustments. The two filters were carefully sawn
in half to reveal the contents in as undisturbed a fashion as possible. Much to
our surprise there were only 2 things to be found in those filters granulated ca
rbon and a poly-ethylene filter. There was no block carbon, no CaSO3 (Calcium Su
lfite), and no pre-filter to be found. (Fig.7) This was true of both filters. Fi

UV Light: Akai, another Japanese manufacturer, has the most unique approach to k
illing microbes present in the water. Akai utilizes a UV light to destroy undesi
rable microbes. While complete ionization should kill any microbial content in t
he water, Akai took an extra step to be certain. The remainder of their filtrati
on utilizes activated granular carbon as well as a mechanical filter. Myth 2: Ka
ngen water is better than alkaline, ionized water Fact: There are 2 ways the qua
lity of Kangen or alkaline water are measured by how acid or alkaline the water
becomes (pH) and by how much ionization occurs (ORP). As I pointed out in the pr
evious "myth" point, Kangen Water is Enagic's brand of alkaline, ionized water wi
th a high ORP. The very measurements that are mentioned, pH and ORP, are what set
s Enagic's units apart from all of the competitors that I have tested to date. E
nagic's units produce a stable and consistently higher pH and ORP than other unit
s. Each time I have tested the water from my SD501 in my kitchen, the pH holds a
t 9.75 for 21 days in a closed container out of excessive heat; and the ORP test
s consistently at -925mV and holds at -900mV for up to 56 hours if stored in a d
ark glass bottle with a tight fitting lid on my countertop. Because all water so
urces are different, your results may vary. Over the past 2 years I have regular
ly called various Jupiter dealers to obtain information. I am always honest and
tell them that I am doing research on water ionizers and I want to know anything
that they can tell me about their machines. I was proudly sent to this site rec
ently by a distributor. They consider this unit to be roughly equivalent in thei
r line to our DX or DXII units. At the time this test was performed, Jupiter was
claiming that they could achieve a -800mV ORP from the Melody. But when I press
ed the salesman, I was told that the normal readings were about -175mV. Tests pe
rformed in my own kitchen, using the same tap that is used to produce my Kangen
Water , showed that the Jupiter Melody consistently produced water which tested at
only a -120mV ORP with a pH of 9.6. Another factor is that the ORP Kangen Water

dropped at an alarming rate when stored in a dark glass bottle with the same par
ameters utilized with the Kangen Water . After only 2 hours the ORP had dropped to
-20mV. These tests indicate the lack of stability in the water which would gene
rally be attributed to incomplete ionization, a direct result of inadequate ioni
zing plates. The following chart was copied from a Jupiter website with test res
ults: The following analyses were performed by certified laboratories on water f
rom a Jupiter Mavello ionizer, a model similar to the new Jupiter Melody.

Here's excerpts of a letter sent to me:

"Here is the info on Tyent. They are assembled with parts created by Emco Tech,
so even though they state they have a ten year warranty, it is voided if you use
the machine in hard water areas.
Tyent tells you on their site that they use SMPS or Switch Mode Power Supply and
tout it to be the latest technology as it is used in LED TV sets. The reason SM
PS is used in both, the TV and their machines (as well as Emco Tech machines) is
that if full power was supplied to their plates continuously, their plates woul
d melt (just like the LED lights of a TV would if it was supplied with constant
power).
The Tyent will make good quality water, 15 seconds at a time...as the SMPS switc
hes the power off and on every 15 seconds to manage the machine's temperature. T
heir "Turbo" model boosts the power from 80 watts to 280 watts, which is enough
to split water (our machines use 230 watts of constant power), but not enough to
make 2.6pH and lower water.

This is without a doubt the best independent comparison report I have read about
the top five Ionizers available on the market today.

here is what I have found online and what I have found to be truth after being i
nvolved with Enagic and doing my due diligence since November 2007...please be s
ure to read the warranty on page 16 of the attached Jupiter manual, it states th
at their warranty is voided if you use water that is considered "hard" by the mu
nicipalities and they define "hard" water as having more than 18 grains. I check
ed the water for Southern CA to see where it fell compared to 18 grains and it s
howed our water ranges from 394 to 519 ppm for most of CA with an average of 469
ppm total dissolved solids (TDS see attachment called Metropolitan Water Distric
t of SoCal). Since the Emco Tech owners' manual described hard water in grains a
nd not in ppm, I had to find a conversion. It turns out that 18 grains equals 30
8 parts per million total dissolved solids. What does this mean? This means that
the minute you run our water with an average of 469ppm TDS, through their machi
nes, their warranty is voided.
Another prevalent non-truth found on the internet, especially in Rob Gray's site
, www.ionizersreviewe d.com is that we use "harmful chemicals" to make our water
. Keep in mind that our SD501 makes seven types of water: 9.5, 9.0, 8.5, 7.0pH a
ll for drinking. It also makes 5.5-6.0pH water known as beauty water or "toner,"
which can also be used instead of Windex to clean glasses, both drinking and se
eing glasses. No "chemicals" are used to make any of these waters. We do use "ch
emicals" to make our 2.5pH and 11.5pH waters which no other machines can produce
, even the "new Tyent Turbo" cannot produce these waters although their site sta
tes that their new machine can.
The importance of these waters is that the 2.5pH acts as a disinfectant, kills E
coli, HIV virus, MRSA, H1N1, etc. as well as speeds up healing from burns, cuts
, diabetic sores, gets rid of psoriasis, eczema, athletes foot, etc.
11.5pH water removes harmful pesticides from fruits and vegetables, removes stai
ns from carpets, removes stains from clothes, can be used instead of laundry soa
p, can reduce inflammation, emulsifies (breaks down) oils and fats on contact so
you can use it instead of 409 and instead of other chemical degreasers, can be
used instead of Drano, and the list goes on and on.
Now, as you can see, you DO NOT DRINK neither the 2.5 nor the 11.5, but if you w
anted to (and I have on several occasions as ½ cup of 11.5pH water will get rid of
a hangover in 5-10 minutes), no harm will come from it as the dangerous, harmfu
l chemicals being used and that the Internet is warning you about is none other
than Sodium Chloride, also known as salt, yes, table salt...or better yet, ocean
water, salt water, 70% or more of your body, etc.
Most other machines on the market CLAIM to make Kangen or alkaline ionized restru
ctured water with high ORP (oxidation reduction potential) values, although thei
r ORP, or anti oxidant potency is nowhere as high as ours for extended time peri
ods. There is a clever video on the Ionways site showing a "laboratory test" tha
t shows the high ORP other machines have However, they neglect to mention that th
eir filters have tourmaline in them, a mineral that gives the water a false nega
tive ORP that only lasts for a few minutes. The ORP from Enagic machines lasts a
nywhere from 8 to 48 hours as the water is truly separated into OH- and H+. The
interesting thing is that the video states they are testing these machines in La
s Vegas with water coming right out of the tap (no pre filters, etc); Vegas is o
ne of the cities with the worst water quality we have come across. Yet as mentio
ned on the above paragraph, their warranties are voided when TDS are higher than
18 grains. I guess that is why they state clearly on their video that they are
testing brand new machines right out of the box; had they tested machines that w
ere 6 to 8 months old, they would have shown that their machines no longer work.
In plain words, when we make Kangen Water, our high ORP lasts for 8 to 48 hours,
where alkaline water made from ALL OTHER MACHINES only last about 15 to 45 minut
es as they are not truly ionized. Their ORP comes from tourmaline and other mine
rals found in their filters and not from real ionization or separation of H2O in
to OH- and H+.
You see, our machines are water ionizers and as such ionize water...but they als
o ionize the minerals IN the water. Since there are not enough minerals in our w
ater to produce the high and low pH waters (2.5 & 11.5pH) we add salt water for
that specific purpose...to make the waters that we do not drink...so even if the
re was to be a little bit of salt water left in the chamber (which does NOT happ
en as the machine flushes itself out for a minute after making these waters to e
nsure that there is no salt water left), no harm would come to you as salt water
has not killed anyone yet...as a matter of fact, many believe we have come from
salt water as most of our body is comprised of this precious liquid.
Our machines are made in Japan. Japan is a volcanic island which has no calcium
in their water, so our Japanese machines (meaning all Enagic machines as they ar
e all made in Japan) have a port for calcium to be added....IF we were in Japan,
but since we are in the USA, where our water has too much calcium, we DO NOT NE
ED to add calcium. As a matter of fact, the water in most of the US is sooo high
in calcium that every single one of the competitors machines will not last more
than six to eight months as their plates will become caked with calcium and plu
g their machine, at which point they become nothing more than an expensive Brita
filter.
This is why they have a clause in their warranty which voids their warranty when
the machine is used in hard water...defined as having more than 18 grains of to
tal dissolved solids (TDS) in the water.
We market our machines by sharing water for two to three weeks and by educating
our friends on the benefits of Kangen water as well as the differences between ou
r machines (medical device) and others on the market (appliances) . Once a perso
n has tried our water and had results from drinking our water, the decision to p
urchase the machine is a natural process. So we don't sell machines, we share wa
ter, share health, educate our friends, and the recipient of the benefits and th
e water chooses to buy a machine of their own as they too want to share water wi
th their friends and family.
Our "competitors" market their machines by misleading and misinforming our custo
mers and tricking them into purchasing a lesser product. They NEVER share their
water because their water does not yield any results, so the only way they can m
ake a sale is by outright lying to our customers and appealing to their sense of
lack made prominent by the media.
Here is a very simple way to figure out if their machines and companies will las
t long enough to service your needs and provide the health benefits they state:
Ask them where their service centers are located in the event you need to have y
our machine repaired, and that you would like to visit the center before making
your purchase.
Ask them if they are approved as a medical device and if so, to please produce t
he certificate( s) showing proof that they are.
Tell them you would like to go to one of their "service centers" or sales office
s and get free water for 2-3 weeks BEFORE you purchase your machine to be certai
n that their water does what they say.
The third point is a true eye opener as they will tell you that their machines h
ave a 60 day money back guarantee and you don't need to go to their offices to g
et water because you can have your very own machine for "free" for 60 days. They
may or may not tell you that if you decide to return the machine there will be
a return fee ranging from $300 to $600 which more than covers their cost to BUIL
D their machines.
I believe that there is no price too high to pay for my health and the health of
my family. Couple that with all the information contained in this email and the
fact that our machines last for 15-25 years (we know this because Enagic has be
en around for 35 years and there are over 400,000 machines on the field that are
older than 20 years), I choose to not skimp on health as there is no price anyo
ne can put on my families' health or my health for that matter (even my cat and
dog have had remarkable results). And I believe that .73 per day is not that hig
h of a price to pay for peace of mind ($3980 ÷ 15 years = .73 per day). Besides, i
f someone is already spending good money on bad water, and on Windex, 409, laund
ry soap, stain removers, degreasers, etc...they are paying for the machine but n
ot getting its benefits. We have had our machine since November 2007 and it has
more than paid for itself in many ways.
The first thing I did after hearing about this machine was to go on the Internet
and find out what all was out there. If you have done this yourself, you have p
robably seen hundreds if not thousands of pages comparing themselves to our mach
ines (to Enagic, and specifically to the SD501) or downright lying about them an
d saying that this is a scam.
We all know that comparison is the best type of flattery, and that a comparison,
by definition always attempts to bring up a lesser product to "standard." Our m
achine IS the gold standard in the industry and the only machine considered a me
dical device by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Government of Japan
and endorsed by the Geriatric Disease Prevention Association of Japan (the latte
r is comprised of 6,500 medical doctors). As a matter of fact, Enagic machines a
re the only ones in the world with three ISO (International Organization for Sta
ndardization) certifications, one in the environmental realm, one in manufacturi

te that they too are ISO certified, yet when you Google their ISO certificate nu

ufacturer (Emco Tech) would certainly post that on their site.
One of the most harmful sites on the Internet is www.ionizersreviewe d.com which
lists a number of "untruths" about our machines and our compensation plan. Our
company is a DIRECT SALES company with a multi tiered compensation plan. The dif
ference between our company and MLM is that there is no sign up fee, there are n
o monthly quotas, there is no "auto-ship" or forced continuity, there is no inve
ntory, and best of all, no hassle. Most MLM companies have a "binary" compensati
on plan, which in few words only allows you to sign up two people below you and
build those two lines or "legs." In a binary system, you only get paid on the sh
ortest leg volume. This means that if you sign up two people below you and one s
ells 100 units and the other person only sells 3, you would only get paid on thr
ee units for each leg or a total of six units. If you wanted to get paid on the
other 97 sales you would have to go to work for the individual who only sold thr
ee units and build his/her business up to 100 so you can be compensated for thos
e sales.
With our compensation plan, you are allowed to open as many referral lanes or "l
egs" as you like and the company pays daily...which means you receive a check in

The truth of the matter is that every product has costs associated with bringing
it to market. For any supplement we make and sell, there is the packaging, the
distribution, the advertising, market education, the free samples, as well as re
search and development aspects, all accounting for 60 and up to 90% of the cost
of the product. Enagic pays out 57% of the price of the machine to its distribut
ors as we do the marketing, the distribution, and most important the education o
n the product.
So if MLM or multi tiered compensation may be a concern for someone, it only tak
es a minute to stop, and realize that any and all corporate jobs would fall unde
r a true MLM structure where the "bottom" people do all the work, and the ones s
itting on top collect all the benefits. One of the MANY enhancements that attrac
ted me to the Enagic compensation plan, is that I can make a higher income than
the person who brought me in if I choose to work the business, and that the comp
any does not pay the people "at the top" just for being there. The other thing t
hat attracted me to this business is that once I own my machine I become the man
ufacturer of the product (water). I can give away as much water as I want as I b
uild my business with no auto ship, resale, monthly qualifiers, etc.
Now that I have gotten the compensation/ MLM misrepresentation found on the Inte
rnet out of the way, I would like to refer you to the document attached called C
omparison_of_ Water_Ionizers which addresses every single point erroneously brou
ght up on the Internet.
Interestingly enough, one of the very important points they don't bring up is th
at of the warranty on their product(s) and our products. They state they also ha
ve a "five year warranty," and on the Tyent site they will even extend it to ten
years. However, in their owner's manual it states that the warranty is VOIDED i
f the machine is used in hard water (defined as having more that 18 grains TDS o
r 308 parts per million) and for some models, if the machine is used for making
more than 2.5 gallons of water per day. We give away 10-30 gallons per day and h
ave consistently given away well over 100 gallons daily at seminars in Vegas and
around the country from the same machine (purchased 11/07) which to this day st
ill produces perfect Kangen water with an ORP ranging from -500 to -900 depending
on the water source.
I invite you to surf on over to your local water municipality website and see ho
w many parts per million of total dissolved solids your water has...you may be s
urprised to find that it ranges from 394 to 519 ppm for most of CA with an avera
ge of 469pp and TX, AZ, and NV are even WORSE!!!.
Since most of the sites online do NOT show their owner's manual, we decided to d
o some research and found out that a Korean company called Emco Tech (Royal Wate
r) is the mass manufacturer of most of the water ionizers in the world. Emco Tec
h, by the way, has a license for manufacturing refrigerators and air conditioner
s. ...NOT medical devices.
They manufacture 14 models of water ionizers for 10 different companies... .howe
ver; all the machines are the same with the exception of their outer shell. Inte
restingly enough, Emco Tech DOES have their manuals online where one can downloa
d them and this is where we found the information on their warranty.
All "competitor" machines are manufactured by Emco Tech and sold under different
names ranging from Venus, Orion, Jupiter, Athena, Melody, Aquarius, Ion Ways, a
nd more (you can see these at this site http://www.snyderhe alth.com/ water_ioni
zers/ distilled_ and_reverse_ osmosis_water. html).
After seeing what those machines look like, surf on over to the Emco Tech site a
nd you will see that even though they have different names, the machines look th
e same: http://www.royalwat er.com/emco/ trouble_manual. htm. It is this same si
te that allows you to download their manuals and read the warranty carefully. Yo
u will see the 2.5 gallon per day and 18 grains limitations.
Enagic machines have a complete 5 year warranty and are the only water ionizers
that can be used in hard water locations such as most of the USA. Please view th
e attached document named "Side-By-Side" for a side by side comparison of our io
nizing plates and theirs.
Finally, there is one more company to discuss, that is the Tyent, which accordin
g to them is manufactured in the USA and or Japan (depending on which site you g
o to)...however, Tyent purchases their parts from Emco Tech and assembles the ma
chines here in the US."

We've been using Kangen water exclusively since last Dec....I LOVE IT!!
We recently received Joshua's Doctors Data hair test and there was significant i
mprovement in his mineral level....adding the Kangen water was the only thing I
really changed this last 6 months to have seen these improvements.

Also check message #18620+,18765, 19267, 18160+
The biggest recommendation I have with these systems is to add a KDF prefiltrati
on to purify it further. We added a folder in our group files with a KDF filtera
tion chart & other water systems info as well.
I highly recommend this!!!! I'm also looking into the new AMwater system as well
....we recently found out they extended the sale to this month as well.
