90496 Ultraview® Command Module Pacer Detection Upgrade Kit (P/N 040-1488-00)

This document provides instructions for upgrading the pacer detection functionality of the 90496 Command Module.

CAUTION:
• Observe precautions for handling electrostatic-sensitive devices.

! • Never touch electrostatic-sensitive electronic components without following proper anti-static

procedures, including the use of an ESD wrist band and mat. An electrostatic discharge from your
fingers can permanently damage electronic components.
• All static-sensitive electronic components are packaged in static-shielding bags. Retain the bag for
repackaging the component should you need to store it or return it to Spacelabs Medical for any
reason.

Verify that the following parts are available before beginning the installation.

Ultraview Command Module Service Manual (P/N 070-0752-xx), located on CD-ROM P/N 084-0700-xx.

Installation Instructions

1. Remove the screws from the outer covers and remove the module side covers.
2. Carefully separate the PCBAs.
3. Remove any interconnecting cables.
4. Remove the shields from the AFE PCBA and install onto the new AFE PCBA.
5. Replace the AFE PCBA. Discard the older PCBA.
6. Reassemble the module. When re-installing the side covers, take care not to bend the EMI gasket fingers
that provide connection between the side covers and internal shield ground.
7. Perform the Performance Verification procedures specified in the Ultraview Command Module Service
Manual to confirm the functionality of the module.
