SYLLABUS

Course No. : Spanish 1

Course Title : Basic Spanish A1-1

Course Credit : 3 units lecture

Course Pre-requisites : None

Course Description

In this course the students will learn how to interact in basic everyday situations, using simple and common expressions to meet immediate needs. It follows the
Common European Framework of References for Languages. Skills are integrated and presented in a communicative approach.

Course Objectives

The students are expected:

1. To communicate simply and efficiently in short social exchanges, giving some of their personal information.
2. To be able to describe places using basic sentence patterns.
3. To be able to speak about their family, providing some personal information as well as describing their appearance and personality.
4. To be able to give spatial information about the place where they live.
5. To become aware of some differences and similarities between the Spanish (from Spain and some places of Latin America) and the Philippine cultures.
