Soon after he left college, Dave found one of his uncles who was very rich and

Dave found a nice office. He bought some new furniture and moved in. he had
only been there for e few hours when he heard someone coming toward the door of
his office.
“It must be my first customer,” Dave thought. He quickly picked up the telephone
and pretended to be very busy answering an important call from someone in New
York who wanted to buy a big and expensive house in the country.
The man knocked at the door while this was going on. He came in and waited
politely for Dave to finish his conversation on the phone. Then the man said to
Dave; “I am from the telephone company and I was sent here to connect your
telephone.”

Blessing Behind Tragedy

There was a black family in Scotland years ago. They were Clark family with nine
children. They had a dream to go to America. The family worked and saved. They
were making plan to travel with their children to America. It had taken several years
but finally they had saved enough money. They had gotten passport. They had
booked seats for the whole family member in a new liner to America.
The entire family was full of anticipation and excitement with their new life in
America. However few days before their departure, the youngest son was bitten by a
dog. The doctor sewed up the boy. Because of the possibility of getting rabies, there
were being quarantined for long days. They were in quarantine when the departure
time came. The family dreams were dashed. They could not make the trip to America
as they had planned.
The father was full of disappointed and anger. He stomped the dock to watch the ship
leaved without him and his family. He shed tears of disappointment. He cursed both
his son and God for the misfortune.
Five days latter, the tragic news spread throughout Scotland. The ship, the mighty
Titanic, had shank. It took hundreds of passenger and crew with it. Titanic which had
been called the unsinkable ship had sunk. It was unbelievable but it was.
The Clark family should have been on that ship, but because of the bitten son by a
dog, they were left behind. When the father heard the news, he hugged the son and
thanked him for saving the family. He thanked God for saving their lives. It was a
blessing behind a tragedy.

What makes television even more interesting is that action is accompanied by sound,
so that we can see as well as hear what on the television. Today we can stay at home
and enjoy entertainment that once could be seen only in cinema, theaters and sport
arenas. Television enables to meet important people. It can bring important guests
and important scene to receivers who are located anywhere.
Television has a great influence on our idea about what is right and what is wrong. It
influences the way which we should behave. Television has close related to our life in
general. Some times the value and life style we get from television are in conflict
with those that we get at home and school.
Critics point out that crime and TV show often appeal to taste for violence, while
many games and quizzes appeal to greedy. it is important to suggest that television
should be used for socially constructive purpose for the shake of better life.

The Importance of Library

I personally believe that libraries are among humanity’s most important institutions
for several reasons.
Firstly, most of humanity’s collective knowledge is stored in libraries. Secondly,
libraries protect and preserve this knowledge. They also classify or group the
materials into logical and easily available divisions.
Furthermore, libraries make the materials available to everyone and even provide
librarians to help us find what we need.
Finally, libraries are our link to the past and our gift to the future.
From the facts above, I conclude that libraries are important institutions for humanity.

learning because of the weather when it was snowing very thick. They just sit and

principals' attention to the students, because the snow is so thick today. Then you will
only attend school for half days. "

All of the students in the class cheered with delight, but after pausing for a moment of
cheering students, the principal continued the announcement: "You will continue
learning activities this afternoon"

Nasreddin’s Coat

One day Nasreddin had been invited to the dinner party. He went to the party by
wearing old clothes.
When he arrived in the party, nobody looked at him and nobody gave him a seat. He
got no food in the party so he went home and change his clothes
Next he put on his best clothes. He wore his newest coat and went to the party again.
The host at once got up and came to meet him. The host offered him the best table
and gave him a good seat and served him the best food
Nasreddin sat and put off his coat. He put his coat and said; “Eat the food, Coat!” the
hosts and guests were very surprised and asked Nareddin; “What are doing?”
Nasreddin replied calmly; “When I came here with my old clothes, nobody looked at
me. Then I went home and put on my best clothes. I came back in my newest coat
and you all give me this best food and drink. So, you give food to my coat instead of
me”. Getting Nasreddin’s answer, they just shook the head.

Meaning Of Peace

There once was a King who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the
best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The King looked at all the pictures, but there
were only two he really liked and he had to choose between them.
One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for peaceful
towering mountains were all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white
clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace.
The other picture had mountains too. But these were rugged and bare. Above
was an angry sky from which rain fell, and in which lightening played. Down the side
of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all. But
when the King looked, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in
the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush
of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest ........... perfect peace.

I am from a big family. I have two aunts and one uncle whose houses are so far from
mine. I am the oldest child and have three brothers and one sister. I make many
friends and love them very much. Everyday, after school, as village children, we
gather together in our village’s playing field. In there, we can play football, play
kites, play the “go back through the door” game, marbles game, and some other
village children’s games. We are very closed friends.
One day, Thinky, my cousin, said, “Hi friends, you know that my father is a clever
farmer. He had created scarecrow that made the birds never approach our paddy-field
anymore. They just watched it from three miles away. They didn’t dare to pick even a
grain of rice,” he boasted. “That’s great,” said one of my friends. “That’s nothing,”
said Pinky, a big talk friend, too. “My father had created a so big-talk created a so

Gesang

"Those who don't learn from history are condemned to repeat it" and "A great nation
is one which fully appreciates its heroes." say popular English aphorism and national
adage. Then, proposing an important person who has taken a role in our nation
history is important. I think Gesang should be a national hero.
Who have never heard Bengawan Solo song? I doubt it if there is. This keroncong
song has been a part of national voices. Gesang is a senior composer whose songs
gained fame all the way to Japan. He has received a number of awards in art and
everyone will admit that his art talent was dedicated to this nation.
Government has declared the other great composer; WR. Suratman and Ismail
Marzuki as national Heroes. Gesang might not be compared to others, but in my
opinion, Gesang is as great as them. All of them are maestros. Due to his keroncong
music maestro, Gesang has taken a role in building our national identity.
It is obvious that government should name Gesang National Hero. We should not
delay and wait for, in case, our neighbor countries or other international communities
go a head to recognize him and grant an award for what he deserves.

Tourism

What is the benefit of tourism for local people? Well, Tourism is now a huge
contributor to the economies of most countries. Tourism industries can bring money,
job vacancy and advancement especially to developing regions. However, this money
often goes into the pockets of foreign investors, and only rarely benefits for local
people.

Tourism industries will not give much benefit for local people if, for example,
multinational hotel chains don't care about the surrounding nature when they build
new hotels. This can cause many social, cultural and geographical problems. Some
local people may get job and money from that International hotel chain. However in
case of missing that opportunity, some of them still have their own environment.
Moreover, some facts show that tourists tend to go, visit and spend their money in
restaurants, bars and even luxury hotels of that multinational chains. They less go to
such places; restaurant, bar, hotel, shop which are owned by local people. This can
prevent the local people's business from becoming even larger.
Most important thing, tours or excursions of tourism have little effect on nature. Even
it can disrupt or destroy ecosystems and environments, and if it does, the local people
will get the risk.

So the local government policies should be put in place to ensure that tourism will
make the benefit spreading widely. The policies should guarantee that tourism will
not cause any harm to any local people or places.

Weather Related Problem

Every year thousands of people die, due to weather related problems. It can happen in
both winter and in summer. Let’s examine the causes for a moment.
The year 2003 was a time of extreme cold in the winter. Extreme, that is by European
standards. In Britain alone, the number of people who died from cold-related illnesses
was described as ‘shameful’. Nearly twenty-five thousand people died from illnesses
such as strokes, heart attacks, bronchitis, flu and pneumonia.
In the summer of t he same year, around twenty-three thousand people died in Europe
due to the sizzling temperatures. France was particulary badly hit, with nearly fifteen
thousand death which were related to the sweltering heat. In Britain, the number of
heat-related death was much lower than the number of winter deaths.
It is important to note that government need to give some advices to people on how to
protect their health.

The term “Men sana in corpore sano” means that a healthy body makes a sound mind.
More and more people nowadays are aware of the truth behind the maxim.
As a result, they make sports an integral part of their lives. Some people participate in
sports to release energy and tension, while others do it to make friends. Sports, such
as soccer, basketball or boxing, have become an acceptable way to release energy and
aggression.
Other sport like golf, mountain climbing, dancing or bowling can be means of
starting or consolidating friendships. Most sports offer a constructive escape from the
pressures of the everyday life. In fact, you can change your life if you take up and
keep up an activity suited to your character, abilities and lifestyle.
It is important to realize that no matter what kind of exercise you do, you can be sure
that it’s always good for your health and that it’s fun.
