- The mechanical cooling system shall be placed within the concrete element and when it has
reached the concrete age of casting the surface connection to the refrigerant pipe shall be
discharged to a depth of 10cm from the surface.
- Formwork should be planned so that the opening of the formwork does not interfere with the
observations of the cooling system and the temperature.
- Cooling pipes should not break or melt during concrete molding and should be guaranteed
to be protected from movement. The cooling pipe shall be grouting immediately without
shrinking in accordance with ASTM C-1107 for 0.0 percent depreciation and ASTM C-827

modifications to the demolition of the formwork shall not be made at a temperature condition which
is not in accordance with the requirements based on test results and approval of the Supervisory
Consultant

2. Surface (Common End Work)

Concrete treatment is carried out with respect to the initial binding time. Immediately after the initial
binding time, the curing work must be done immediately on the finished concrete by spraying Curing
Compound material. Some other curing ways can be implemented after the Curing Compound time
ends, among others:

a) As soon as the concreting (before the initial binding occurs), the concrete must be protected
from premature drying, overheating temperatures, and mechanical disturbances. The concrete
shall be maintained for a minimum loss of moisture and a relatively fixed temperature within the
setting time to ensure proper hydration of the cement and hardening of the concrete.
b) This wetting treatment is performed after initial treatment using Curing Compound.
Implementation by spraying Curing Compound material is carried out for the type of structure
such as bridge floor, rigid pavement and wide surface structure type.
c) Curing compound work shall be executed before the hardening process (before wet shrinkage
occurs) by enveloping it with water-absorbing material. This water absorbent sheet should be
saturated for at least 7 days. All ingredients or sheets of water absorbent material should be
attached to the treated surface
d) Where the formwork used is not demolish then the formwork shall be maintained in wet
conditions until the formwork is demolished, to prevent the opening of concrete joints and
drying.

temperature difference in the concrete can be observed. At a minimum, concrete temperatures
should be observed at the hottest locations of the calculations, at least 2 outer walls, 2 corners and
upper surface.

(e) Temperature Reading

Temperature readings should be automatically recorded at any hour or faster. A set of backup
sensors should be installed near the main sensor. Backup sensors should be recorded, but
recording is not necessary if the main sensor is working properly. Temperature record can be
stopped when the maximum temperature has been reached, the temperature difference in the
concrete with average daily air temperature is less than the permissible temperature difference for
three consecutive days and there is no foundation of large adjacent mass concrete. The data must
be printed and submitted to the engineer on a daily basis.
