Welcome to this product overview
of the Webasto Transport
Refrigeration products.
Webasto wishes you a lot of success with this E-Guide and your refrigeration business.
T10061501E
Introduction 2/7
This interactive e-guide assists you in selecting the suitable transport refrigeration system.
Tools such as a system configuration form or calculation tools help you to determine the
suitable capacity and application. We offer suitable compressor mounting kits for various
vehicles.
Please feel free to contact us if you need solutions for special applications such as medical
transportation.

Introduction 3/7
• Transport refrigeration systems keep perishables at the correct temperature to make
sure these reach their destination in top condition.
• Most solutions can be offered "off the shelf". For specific solutions Webasto offers
application engineering services. (Application engineering is not included in this e-guide).
T10061501E
Introduction 4/7
• Webasto Frigo is a comprehensive range of mobile refrigeration systems for
commercial vehicles.
• Depending on variables like urban distribution or very few door openings, the Webasto
mobile refrigeration systems are suitable for a wide range of load compartments
• Refrigeration solutions are available for several common temperature ranges,
depending on the goods to be transported.
• R134a refrigerant is used for positive temperatures, R404A refrigerant is used for
negative temperatures.
+12 ºC - 15 ºC
+ 5 ... 10 ºC - 18 ºC
+ 4 ºC - 18 ºC
T10061501E
Introduction 5/7
• The final ATP qualification of the transport refrigeration is a combination of the
insulation quality of the cell and the temperature that can be maintained in the cell.
• ATP has specified two cell insulation qualities:
1. Normally insulated (Insulation factor k ≤ 0,7 W/m²K)
2. Heavily insulated (Insulation factor k ≤ 0,4 W/m²K)
• The temperature ranges defined by ATP indicate the class of the transport refrigeration:
A = 12 to 0 °C
B = 12 to -10 °C
C = 12 to -20 °C
• The above has resulted in the following possible ATP qualifications for a transport
refrigeration system:
ATP qualification Insulation quality Temperature class k factor (W/m2K) Cell temperature range (°C)
FNA Normally insulated A ≤ 0,7 12 to 0
FRA Heavily insulated A ≤ 0,4 12 to 0
FRB Heavily insulated B ≤ 0,4 12 to -10
FRC Heavily insulated C ≤ 0,4 12 to -20

Tonale 1/3
Tonale is a classic refrigeration system with a
compact roof mounted condenser unit. This
configuration is ideal for vehicles not allowing an
integrated condenser. Still, it is a direct drive
system. Its simplicity makes Tonale durable and
Tonale 4000 reliable.
Tonale 3000
All Tonale kits are ATP certified.
Tonale 2000
Tonale is designed for applications on small,
medium and large vans.

Integrated solutions
Pordoi 1/4
Pordoi is a modular direct drive system
compatible with all common commercial
vehicles. It is fully integrated and does not affect
the exterior design and aerodynamic aspects of
the vehicle. Fuel consumption will be lower.
Pordoi 4000 Garages and car washes can still be used.
Pordoi 3000 Pordoi offers a great amount of flexibility.
Pordoi 2000
All Pordoi kits are ATP certified.
Webasto Pordoi is designed for applications on
small, medium and large vans.

Pordoi 2/4
The basic system contains an evaporator unit
(called evaporator kit) and a control panel. The
kit must be completed with:
• A compressor.
• A compressor installation kit.
• A condenser and drier.
These need to be acquired separately. But, for
many LCVs Webasto offers a vehicle specific kit,
containing all these parts and the matching
hoses and wiring.
