Press Release - Orientation Program of 24th Batch

July 23, 2018: The institute today held the orientation program for its 24th batch PGDM (first
year) students. The program began with Hawan, where both the senior as well as junior batch
students gave “Ahuti” to seek blessings from goddess Saraswati for the new academic
year. Later, Director along with senior faculty members and students lighted the ceremonial
lamp along with the chief guest for the occasion Mr. Arvind Thothadri, Head, Global Training
& Certification of Automation Anywhere.

Dr. (Prof.) Rakesh Premi, welcomed the students and called upon them to work with
commitment which will enable students to be industry-ready to face the competition, which
lies ahead for them.

Mr. Arvind Thothadri, Head, Global Training and Certification at Automation Anywhere, in
his welcome address informed the students regarding the developments in Robotic Process
Automation- RPA and how enterprises across industries such as banking, insurance, and
transportation have deployed RPA with cognitive technologies to automate routine business
processes such as fulfilling purchase orders and new hire onboarding.

The post lunch session began with the faculty introducing themselves to the newly admitted
students. This was followed by the introduction of PGDM program by Dr. Shekhar Trivedi,
PGP chair, wherein he explained the rules and regulation and academic requirements of the
program. Special emphasis on anti ragging rules & regulations and discipline in the institute
was given by Mr. Devendra Jaiswal, Controller of Examination. Brief description about the
placement activity was given by Mr. Vinod Sharma. The students were made aware of library
facilities by Mrs. Usha Shukla and hostel facilities by Dr. Kunwar Milind Singh. The students
were introduced to the counselling cell of the college by Dr. Monika Srivastava and Ms.
Pratibha Mishra.

The students were then given a task to shoot a short movie on a social issue which would be
judged on the second day of the orientation, i.e. tomorrow.

The anchors Vidisha & Anmol briefed the students on the event scheduled for the next day of
the orientation. The program was attended by all the students, staff & faculty members of GHS-
IMR.
