2.2 Alternative Structural System

In general, the carpark podium is designed with post tensioning flat slab system.

Post tensioning transfer plate on transfer floor is proposed.

The apartment towers are re-designed w it h beamless framing to suit steel


formwork.

Column are re-designed with higher concrete grade.

3.5 Material Data

 Concrete :

 Grade 35 for post tensioning flat slab


 Grade 45 for post tensioning transfer flat slab
 Grade 30 for shear wall at apartment towers and overall beam and slab.
 Grade 30-60 for columns and wall at podium carpark.

 Reinforcement :

 Main bars, fy = 460 N/mm2


 Links, fy = 460/250 N/mm2
 Fabric, fy = 485 N/mm2

 Prestressed strand:

 Post tensioned bonded system to be used


 Strand to be 12.7 mm diameter supa grade, low
relaxation with UTS of 184 KN per strand to
ASTM A416-85
 Modulus of elasticity of strand = 195 KN/mm2

E Lateral Forces

At the ultimate limit state the horizontal forces to be resist at any level should

appropriate partial safety factor.
