Introduction:

The power of your subconscious mind goes further than you might think. No pun
intended. I’m sure you’ll agree with me when I say our brains are extremely
complicated. However, you might be surprised by how much control we have over its
programming. Let’s first take a moment to consider the fact that your subconscious
mind is like a huge memory bank. Its capacity is virtually unlimited and it
permanently stores everything that ever happens to you. By the time you reach the age
of 21, you’ve already permanently stored more than one hundred times the contents of
the entire Encyclopaedia Britannica.

Under hypnosis, older people can often remember, with perfect clarity, events from
fifty years before. Your unconscious memory is virtually perfect. It is your conscious
recall that is suspect. The function of your subconscious mind is to store and retrieve
data. Its job is to ensure that you respond exactly the way you are programmed. Your
subconscious mind makes everything you say and do fit a pattern consistent with your
self-concept, your “master program.”

Your conscious mind commands and your subconscious mind obey.

Objective:

1. To explain the power of sub-conscious mind

2. To explain what is sub-conscious mind

3. To differentiate between conscious and sub-conscious mind

4. To describe the anatomy of sub-conscious mind

5. To exercise power of sub-conscious mind

6. To brief the examples of power of sub-conscious mind

Methodology:

Primary as well as secondary sources will be used for data collection. The books
published on power of sub-conscious mind will be read and analysed for thorough
understanding of the topic. Research papers and critical reviews on the topic will be
evaluated to connect with the present study. Keeping in mind the nature of research
interpretative methodology will be used for analysis. The study will be concluded
with briefing some examples on power of sub-conscious mind.

Review of literature:

The subconscious mind defines all reactions and automatic actions we become aware
of if we think about them. However, the rise of brain imaging methods
allowed researchers to study thought processing. There are many books and studies in
which the efforts of scholars and researchers have been contributed.

Stajkovic, A.D., Locke, E. A., & Blaire, E. (2006). "A first examination of the
relationships between primed subconscious goals, assigned conscious goals, and
task performance". Journal of Applied Psychology.

-Details the relation between subconscious and conscious mind and briefed about
some experiments conducted.

Joseph murphy: the power of your sub-conscious mind

Dr. Joseph Murphy was a renowned author on the subject of the law of attraction. He
has helped millions of people to achieve their goals by teaching them ways to
influence their subconscious mind and actively change their way of thinking. This
book is a great collection of his teachings which includes scientifically backed
research and spiritual wisdom.
Creative Visualization: Use the Power of Your Imagination to Create What You
Want in Your Life

A very successful book on the topic of using mental imagery and positive affirmations
to bring about great changes in life. This book comprises of exercises, techniques to
help readers guide their energies in the right direction by the power of sub conscious
mind

Beyond the Power of Your Subconscious Mind

It gives a fantastic insight into power of our sub-conscious mind and details about
various techniques to exercise the power of your sub-conscious mind. It covers a
broad range of working of mind and applications of power of the mind to tackle
various day to day problems.

Neuroscience research by Soon et al. (2008)

Demonstrated that the brain is subconsciously aware of our decisions before we have
consciously made those very decisions. In other words, we’ve already come up with a
decision or an answer, before we realise we have.

There are few more case studies and critical ideas of scholars that will be referred to
complete the present project report
