Web 2.0 Tools to Support Collaborative learning
2. Science 3.2 SOL: The student will investigate and understand simple
machines and their uses.
Activity: Students will divide up into groups and choose a simple
machine. Each student will use the tool to create a page about a simple
machine. In the page, the students will cover the name, definition, a
picture, and video example for their simple machine. Then, all students
will share their links within their groups.
3. History 3.1 & 3.2: 3.1 The student will explain how the contributions of
ancient Greece Rome have influenced the present world in terms of
architecture, government (direct and representative democracy), and
sports. 3.2 The student will study the early West African empire of Mali
by describing its oral tradition (storytelling), government (kings), and
economic development (trade).
Activity: Students will divide up into groups and each choose an ancient
civilization. Each student will use the tool to create a page about a
contribution that their ancient civilization made. Students will include
name, picture, and description of the contribution in their page. All
students will share their pages at the end.
