1 SUMMARRY
In 2002, based on the Susenas conducted by BPS & Pusdatin Social
Ministry (Kementrian Sosial), there were 94,674 street childrens in Indonesia. There was an increase number for 64% of street children from 2002 to 2008, or an average of 10.6% a year. The government has established these shelters in each province, such as in Central Java, 54 shelters, 19 units of South Sumatera and West Sumatra there are 21 shelter houses. This shelter house has a program in the field of education and skills development. But the primary problem found in this shelter is still many street children who have not been able to independently taking care of their health care themselves. It is estimated that the number of abandoned children in Indonesia in 2000 to 2008 was 3.06 million children and children in vulnerable condition. Personal hygiene of street children is still a huge health problem related to following diseases such as TB infection, diarrhea, sexually transmitted infections such as HIV / AIDS, while they are really easy to strike down a child in the streets.
Required contributions from health services to help street children in terms
of development of street children's health status. Nursing health students are one of the health care workers who are able to form a healthy person street children. Forms of action undertaken by nursing students in shelter house that is promotion, preventive, curative and rehabilitative. The teaching of personal hygiene and periodic health checks and disease health counseling, prevention of disease and the identification of the dangers of drugs and HIV/ AIDS and to improve the environment health condition for an effort to achieve SDGs.
