GENERAL DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION OF PORTA CABINS - Annex A

1. Easy transportability.
2. Have strength to withstand all stresses, strains and vibrations arising from handling,
transportation and transit and also to protect the internal fitting and their fixtures.
3. Light weight rugged construction commensurate with the needs mentioned above to facilitate
handling and transportation.
4. Long life with minimum repair and maintenance.
5. Interlocking corner casting as per specification at all eight corner to facilitate easy handling
and securing.

Overall Length of Bunk House : 20ft, i.e. 6058 mm

Overall Width of Bunk House : 10ft, i.e. 3050 mm
Overall Height of Bunk House : 8.5ft, i.e.2591 mm

1. CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS:

*Steel: load bearing members : IS 10748 or equivalent.

*Side-end walls : IS 1079 or IS 513 or equivalent.
*Roof : IS 1079 or IS 513 or equivalent.
*Plywood : Marine grade plywood, hardwood species
*Paint : Zn-rich Epoxy Primer
(% volume of solid content 82-85%)
*Corner Casting : Dimension as per ISO1161-1984 (E)

2. WELDING

The Shell of the structural cabin is of all weld construction. The welding is carried out by
MIG process using CO2 as shielding gas. All the external welding will be continuous,
uniform and of full penetration.

3. SHELL:

The outer shell of the Structural cabin will be manufactured with M.S. sheet equivalent to
IS1079 or IS 513 or equivalent. The main load bearing member such as per posts, base
members, bottom side rail, top side rail & headers are press formed profile of appropriate
geometry. Thickness of such profile varies from 3.2mm to 4.0mm and the materials
should confirm to IS 10748.
Number of window and main entry door with reinforced framework will be provided as
per requirement and as stated in the enclosed drawing. The doors can be effectively
sealed against water ingress in closed condition by using rubber gasket profiles.
4. SIDE & END WALLS:

External walls are vertically corrugated 1.6mm thick MS steel sheet equivalent to IS
1079 or IS 513 or equivalent. The corrugated panels are continuously butt welded to form
entire side wall and the assembled side wall is continuously welded to the peripheral
frame members. The side & end walls will also provide cut outs for windows/doors. All
the cut out after fixing the equipment will be weather tight and proper channeling will be
provided for the window openings.

5. ROOF (SELF DRAINING TYPE):

The roof of the shell will be manufactured from 2.0mm thick plan MS sheet conforming
to IS 1079 or IS 513 or equivalent. All the panel are continuously seam welded and are
welded to the peripheral members. Adequate no of roof bow will be provided.

6. SURFACE PRE-TREATMENT:

The shell after pre-fabrication and full welding shall be shot blasted using steel shots
(grade S 230) and steel grits (G 40). The blasted surface shall be equivalent to Swedish
standard of SA2.5. The dust and dirt's are removed by blowing dry and clean oil free
compressed air.

7. PAINTING:

The shot blasted cleaned steel surface is painted as per the following scheme using airless
spray painting process. The total dry films thickness will not be than 115 microns on the
exterior surface and 75 microns on the interior surface.

8. FLOORING SYSTEM:

19mm thick marine grade plywood (IS710, 1976) will be laid on top and secured by self -
tapping screws to the base members. The top inside layer of the plywood will again be
covered with 2.0 mm thick PVC sheets.
9. INSULATION:

Structural cabins will be insulated on sides, end walls with 50mm thick glass wool and
the roof with 75 mm thick glass wool.

10. INNER PANELLING:

The interiors would be aesthetically finished so as to give a pleasing appearance with

high quality workmanship. All joints as well as vertical and horizontal corners shall be
neat and smoothly finished. The inside panel of sides, end walls & roof will consist of 8.0
mm thick pre laminated board. Joints will be covered with anodized aluminum strip.
False ceiling with approved ceiling sheet will be provided.

11. ELECTRICAL:

All wiring shall be concealed type inside the paneling and shall be of PVC insulated
copper wire of ISI quality in PVC/Reinforced Steel Flexible Tubing/Conduits of ISI
grade.

3/20 size wire shall be used in the electrical circuit for light, fan and socket.7/20 wire
shall be used in all Air-Conditioner circuits and 7/16 size for man incoming. Necessary
Weatherproof junction box with 40 Amps/63 Amps with (3p+1E) Industrial sockets shall
be provided for connecting the mains and shall be located as per your requirement.
Terminating of the main incoming cable into the Structural cabin shall be on 63 Amps
TPN Switch/ MCB.

Continuous earth wires shall be provided through out the circuit and external earth
terminal shall also be provided. DOL (of LT/LK make) MCB's of MDS/Wilson/Lupus
make and weatherproof junction boxes and metal clad plug socket of Crompton/Equiv.
Make shall be provided wherever necessary.
All switches and socket shall be of Anchor make & supplied as per requirements of your
Tender. Decorative fluorescent fitting shall be of
Glolite/Vikrant/Crompton/GEC/Equiv. Make with power factor capacitor and copper
wound ballast.

All electrical wiring shall be as per the rules and regulations of tender conforming to your
requirement in quality, quantity and ratings.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR SUBMISSION OF OFFER.

1).The quotation should be submitted in a sealed envelope subscribing the name of work and last date
of submission on top of the envelope indicating Contractors name & address and should be deposit in a
TENDER BOX kept at our office.

2). The rate quoted shall be inclusive of all charge like material cost, labour cost and taxes applicable
with reference to this tender, including that of service tax, if any.
The quotation must accompany,(a)Contractors covering letter,(b) Accepted copy of our terms&
condition, (c) Annex ‘A’ Bill or quantities duly signed & stamped and (d) D.D./P.O. towards EMD, (e)
Contractor will have to specify their PAN number & submit the copy of PAN Card for releasing payment.

3). The validity of the tender should be 60 days from the last date of submission of tender.
a) The tendered will have to make their own arrangement storage of tool & material and its security.
b) Electricity, if provided by us will be charged on actual for which contract has to arrange their power
cables and electric meter OR 1% will be deducted from the final bill.

4).EARNEST MONEY DEPOSIT: EMD of Rs 73500/- will have to be submitted along with the offer by D.D.
/P.O. drawn on any Nationalized/ Scheduled Bank only, in favor of PAWAN HANS HELICOPTERS LTD,
payable at MUMBAI. EMD in any other mode will not be accepted and the quotations without EMD are
liable to be rejected.

5). PERFORMANCE SECURITY: Successful contractor has to deposit an amount equivalent to 10 % of

contract amount as performance security by way of Demand Draft/ Pay Order of any Nationalized/
Scheduled bank or in the form of Bank Guarantee as per approved format which should be submitted
within 21 days from the date of receipt of work order and it should remain valid for period of 60 days
beyond the date of completion of all contractual obligations of the supplier, including warranty
obligations.

6) PAYMENT TERMS: No advance payment will be made for supply of material. Full and final payment
will be released against delivery and installation after submission of bill in duplicate.
Payment will be made through electronic fund transfer from our bank directly to their Bank Account for
which Bank name & Branch address, IFSC code account number to be credited should be mentioned.
Kindly submit copy of cancelled cheque for bank details.

7) GUARANTEE/ WARANTY: The material so supplied should be guaranteed for a period of one year
from the date of supply.

8) TAX DEDUCTION AT SOURCE: Income tax/ WCT if applicable shall be recovered at the rate applicable
for the work and T.D.S. certificates shall be dispatched to the Contractors address.

9) COMPENSATION FOR DELAY: If the material supply is delayed beyond the scheduled time period of
supply, then a penalty of 0.5% of project cost per week shall be levied maximum to 10% of project cost.

10) EXTENSION OF TIME LIMIT: Extension of time can be granted for completion of work in writing,
which shall be treated as authorized time period of completion only on written request giving full
justifications & authentic reasons.
