Future Meaning
There are many ways to express future meaning in English:
1. We use the Present Simple (base form of verb) to discuss events that are scheduled, for example, to talk about transport,
times and itineraries.
I have an interview for a job at NASA next week.
The spacecraft doesn't launch on Sunday.
When do you plan to leave for the planetarium tomorrow?

2. We can use the Present Progressive (be+verb+ing) to discuss plans.


I'm starting my report on the International Space Station tomorrow.
The rocket isn't launching tonight because of the weather.
When are we visiting the Air and Space Museum?

3. We use be going to in order to talk about plans or suggest that something is likely to happen.
The astronauts are going to feel weightless once they are in space.
I'm not going to apply to join the space program.
Is your brother going to become an astronaut one day?

4. We use the Future Simple (will+base form of verb) to talk about future predictions and statements of fact.
The astronauts will prepare for their next mission.
The asteroid will not pass too close to Earth.
Will weightlessness affect your muscle strength?

5. We use the Future Progressive (will be + 'ing') to talk about something that will be in progress at a certain time in the
future.
By this time tomorrow the astronauts will be floating in space!
I can't go out tomorrow because I'll be studying for an astronomy test.
Will humans be colonizing Mars in 10 to 20 years?

6. We use the Future Perfect (will have+past participle) to talk about something that will be finished by a particular time in
the future.
The astronauts will have completed their training by next year.
I won't be able to go on the space mission because I will not have gotten enough training.
Will you have received your letter of acceptance to the Mars colonization program by next week?
