Academic Dishonesty
Mrs. Atkins Pre-AP Algebra 1

Academic dishonesty is cheating. Academic dishonesty will not be tolerated in my classroom. If

you engage in any form of academic dishonesty, a grade of zero will be given and will stand.

A few examples of academic dishonesty consists of copying work from another student, asking
another student for answers, taking pictures of another students work to copy, using another
students’ work and turning it in as your own.

It is much better to turn work in late than take a zero for academic dishonesty. If you are
struggling, you need to see Mrs. Atkins for help and come to tutoring.

If you are caught participating in any form of academic dishonesty, you will be given a grade of
zero and the zero will stand. If you allow another student to copy your work, you will be given
a grade of zero and the zero will stand. If you choose to copy another students’ work and turn
it in as your own, you will be given a grade of zero and the zero will stand.

Parent/Guardians of all participants involved in academic dishonesty will be notified that their
child will be receiving a zero and the reason why. The grade of zero will stand.

By addressing the issue of academic dishonesty up front, I hope to sway the choices of same
students that might try to “copy off their neighbor” before it becomes an issue. Teachers and
parents as a team can accomplish so much more working together. I will always let you know if
your child is participating in any form of academic dishonesty. If you have any questions, please
