Self observations – pre self observations questions

i. Disagree.
It is not a useful tool but a teacher can ask questions while reading to
check on pupils’ understandings. Other than that I normally use making
true and false statements. I ask pupils to do two thumbs up if the
statement is true or two thumbs down for false statements.
ii. Agree.
We learnt from mistakes. As long as pupils tried to speak the teacher can
correct it. Day by day pupils will improve their speaking. I’m afraid the
pupils will less motivate when teacher always correct their mistakes while
speaking. teacher can give advices or suggestion to pupils.
iii. Disagree.
We can apply two or more skills in a lesson. The pupils might find it boring
if teachers only do reading all the time or speaking throughout the
lesson.
iv. Agree.
If pupils don’t know the rules how can they practice it? It is important to
practice the rules before the lesson.
v. Mistakes can be corrected even I’m myself sometimes make mistakes
while teaching. Mistakes can be corrected while marking student’s works.
The teacher needs to explain why it’s wrong and prove it with the correct
answers.
vi. Disagree.
The first step in learning a word is often to be able to recognize a word
by its form and understand what it means. Then gradually, with more
practice of this word in reading, listening, writing, or some other
activities, learners increase their knowledge of this word and learn to use
the word productively in writing or speaking. Therefore, I believe that
productive vocabulary knowledge builds on receptive knowledge.
vii. Agree.
Learning should be add more fun and pupils are learning while they’re
playing. There’s no se sitting down on their table all the time to listen and
watch teacher in front. Children love to move around and fun with
discipline and rules.
viii. Disagree.
Sometimes pupils can make suggestions or comments on teacher’s
activities. They can also suggest what they want to do on the next lesson.
The teacher will reflect on pupils’ feedback on each of the lesson.
