Abstract

This study aimed to give a deeper understanding of the resiliency, self-efficacy,


and temperament of unmarried aging women and to give further researches for the
benefit of many gerontologists and counselors in order to be guided based on the present
cases and situations. Fifty participants ages thirty-five years old and above were selected
to answer questionnaires that were carefully collated and made by the researchers. Based
on the data gathered, the respondents have differences in age. 35-45 years of age got
majority of high score to be followed by 46-55 years old and also 56 years and above got
the least score. The respondents also have differences in their educational attainment.
Majority of the respondents was college graduate followed by the high school graduate
and the least of the respondents was college undergraduate. Majority of the College
Graduates finished Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor of Secondary
Education. Based on the results, most of the respondents were working and the least are
non-working or stays at home. The results shows that most of the unmarried aging
women has high resiliency and stated that they were self-efficient. They see themselves
as more productive than those who were younger than them. They were more focused in
their work and their family. Their preference to maintain their household matters,
whether they can retain their autonomy and live life similar conditions with the way they
lived before. They are in control with whatever they want but in the guidance of their
family and relatives.
