A NARRATIVE ON JOINT BSP AND GSP BACKYARD CAMPING 2016

Theme: Peace and Development Through Scouting

As we have learned, scouting is a movement that aims to support young people in their physical,
mental and spiritual development, that they may play constructive roles in society, with a strong spotlight
on the outdoors and survival skills. And so in line with this concrete logic, the MARGARITA BRIONES
SOLIMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL family that held two-days BSP AND GSP BACKYARD
CAMPING with a theme, “ Peace and Development Through Scouting ” last September 29-30,
2016[Thursday and Friday) in order to realize its activities’ goals and objectives.
The most exciting event on the first day started at exactly 8:30 AM that was held at Villa Soliman
Subdivision Plaza, which was actively participated by the Boy and Girl Scouts, Scout leaders, Scout
Commissioners and parents. After that followed by the Opening Program that was started with the entry
of colors. The singing of the Philippine National Anthem conducted by Star Scout Leader Maria
Christiana Niña T. Batacan and for the reflection or prayer headed by Agnes M. Dela Cruz, Kindergarten
Teacher . Then followed the following parts of the program; Welcome Address headed by our beloved
School Head and Scout Commissioner Madam Angelina P. Tañedo, Rededication of Scout Oath, Laws
and Promises, Presentation of Contingent, Inspirational Talk as well as the formal opening of the said
activity given by the smart and active G.P.T.A. President, Mrs. Teresita G. Calma, and for the message to
all the scouters headed by the very supportive Barangay Captain Laura B. Pascual. The orientation of the
whole two-days activities was approved by our energetic and supportive District Supervisor Mr. Renato T.
Cabarios. One of the highlights activities was excellently shown by a Campfire headed by Mrs.Jean T.
Masanque Girl Scout Assistant Leader and Jeanne Rose Manalo Kawan Leader, and then pursued by the
rendered of Songs and Yells by all scout participants. The first day activity was outstandingly hosted by
Cherry B. Quito.On the second day of the extraordinary affair, was exceptionally hosted by Girl Scout
Leader Sarah I. Babar and Glen Mark C. Magat Boy Scout Leader. Then without delay at exactly 5:00
AM started the morning exercises of the scouts and followed by boodle fight for morning breakfast. Then
finally the most awaited performance of the various Scouting Skill Contests competed by all scout
participants namely; For Boy Scouts competitions are: Troop Formation, Message Relay, Flag Folding,
Knot Tying, Sack Race and Patrol Flag art making. For Girl Scouts competitions are: Hand Signal,
Message Relay, Knot Tying and Arrange of chair relay. For Kawan competitions are: Troop Formation,
Sack race, Stalking Game, and Egg Relay. And for the Star Scouts competitions are: Hand Signal,
Message Relay and Sack Race. The different Scouting games and competitions were all successfully and
fairly done by the limitless efforts of the assigned God-fearing and knowledgeable officiating officials. In
the early afternoon, each cluster participant showed their graceful bodily movements during the Arena
Show that made a rainy day into more breathtaking and temperate. As usual, every game and competition
has a winner and a loser, but this is just an indisputable reality that must be taken into sincere acceptance.
Thus, Scout Commissioner Angelina P. Tañedo joyfully declared the results of the one-day competitions
joined by the BSP and GSP. Here is the order; BSP First Placer – Patrol Tamaraw, Second Patrol Tiger ,
Third Placer –Patrol Eagle and GSP Patrol Rosal Indeed, the two-day BSP AND GSP backyard was
triumphantly and blissfully done through the earnest participation and cooperation of the people involved
in the said event.
