Summary

This study aimed to determine the Environmental Preservation Practices of Barangay

Fairview, Baguio City in terms of educational factor and social factor.

A questionnaire was used to obtain the primary tool to determine regarding the
level of preservation practices of Barangay Fairview, Baguio City. Purok 1 consist of
twenty one respondents; purok two with twenty one respondents; purok three with
twenty two respondents; purok four with twenty two respondents; purok five twenty
two respondents; purok six with twenty one respondents; and purok seven with twenty
one respondents. Whereas, simple stratified random sampling was employed in
selecting the respondents to represent the overall population. Sloven’s formula was
utilized by the researcher to come up with a total respondents of 60.

The salient findings of the study are the proper segregation of biodegradable
and non biodegradable materials; recycling of materials as decorative purposes to gain
profit; proper use of natural resources; composting biodegradable waste; joining
environmental program for future use; and propagation of indigenous trees.

Based on findings , there are different practices employed by the respondents

towards the preservation of the environment. Since environmental preservation
practices adopted by the respondents differ, respondents should have cooperation with
each other to concern agencies for proper dissemination of information and
implementation of program concerning the environment. The factors affecting the
respondents in practicing environmental preservation differ.

Since environmental preservation practices adopted by the respondents differ,

respondents should cooperate with the concern agencies for proper dessimination of
information and implementation of program concerning the environment.

It is recommended that respondents should also practice the primitive way,

which to cut tress and change it by planting another tress as a means of preserving the
environment. The respondents should also increase awareness of the consequences
brought about by the destruction of environment.

Strict implementation of the laws and regulations for environmental

preservation further recommended, and punishment of violations of the laws should be
implemented.
