I confirmed the specd te be 6émph in a posted 30mph zone. I turned around on the vehicle ané as I was catching up with the vehicle continued te nonitor its speed with my radar. I observed the vehicle approaching the 4 way stop sign intersection at Bluffton Road and May River Road without slowing and I activated my blue lights and siren, I then observed the vehicle drive through the 4 way stop intersection at 6Omph. I caught up to the vehicle on Boundary Street where it turned into a parking epace at Dubois Park, T made contact with the driver (Lauren Cutshaw) who began apologizing and advised she was trying to get to her boyfriend's residence who lives on Alljoy Road, I immediately observed the suspect's eyes to be bloodshot and glossy and I emelled the strong odor of an alcholic beverags, Also the suspect’ s speech wae slurred, I asked the suspect how mich she had to drink tonight and she advised, she had two glasses of wine at the Bluffton Room around 2030hrs. After I positioned my patrol vehicle, I appreached the suspect and I asked the suspect if she had any physical impairments and she advised she had a bunion, asked the suspect if she wore glasses or contacts and she advised she did not. HORIZONTAL GAZE NYSTAGMUS TEST: he firet test I adninistered was the horizontal gaze nystagmus test. 1 demonstrated the correct position for the suspect to stand in and instructed her not to move until 1 told her otherwise, I then instructed the suspect te follow my lighted pen with her eyes and to not nove her head. I asked the suspect if she understood and she said she did. During this test I observed lack of smooth pursuit, distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximun deviation, and the onset of nystagmus prior to forty five degrees. I also observed vertical nystagmus. ‘Throughout this test I observed a total of 6 clues out of 6, Prior to asking the suspect to complete this test I denonstrated the test for her. I asked her if she understood the instructions and she stated that she did, During this test she failed to stay in the starting position, did not turn at all (improper turn), and missed heel to toc. ‘Throughout this test I observed a total 3 cluss out of 8. ONE LEG STAND TEST: Prior te asking the suspect to complete this test I denonstrated the test to her, I asked {f she understood and she said she did, During this test she put her foot down anc swayed. ‘Throughout this test I observed a total of 2 clues out of 4, TOTAL NUMBER OF CLUES OBSERVED: 11 At this time I advised the suspect that she was under arrest for driving under the Influence, T then secured the suspect in handcuffs. The suspect was handcuffed behind her back and the handcuffs were double lockad and checked for tightness. I advised the suspect of her Miranda Rights on video. 1 asked the suspect again how much she had to drink and she advised a "couple" of glasses of wine, T asked how tall did she fill the glasses and she advised, "I mean 1 was celebrating my birthday." oxors
