Vicar Dearly beloved in Christ, God has allowed us to enter into New Year 2014. As we stand in the beginning of a New Year, let us look forward to what He holds for us. Let us look into us and examine ourselves as what and how we have been and what we can do this year. The first week we will concentrate on the Medical Mission Sunday. We see God who looks into us with compassion. He sees us and hears us and touchers us with the gift of healing. We have seen the birth of Samuel and his entry into the temple. Elkannah and Hannah went to a temple in Ramah to offer their yearly prayers and offerings. One day Eli the priest observed Hannah mumbling the yearly prayers with a heavy heart. Elkannah was a drunkard and this could have been the reason of whythey didn't have a child. But God saw Hannah's tears and He blessed her with a son the next year and named him Samuel beacuse she asked him of the Lord. She didn't enter the temple for the next 12 years. After the 12th year they brought Samuel too along, after having weaned him. We also see the compassionate love and healing. Peter and John went to pray. While they went they saw a lame man on the way asking for alms. The lame man sat there for years to get into the pool for getting healed. Peter looked at the lame man and said "silver and gold | have none , but such as | have give | thee. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazerethrise up and walk. He went leaping and praising God, because he was and has been praying and was wanting to walk as all the others did. Here we see the compassionate and healing God. Then we note the repentance of Jonah. God asked him to go to Nineveh to preach against them, but he took a ship to Tarshish. A cold wind blew and there was a rierce storm. Those in the ship wondered why and what was. reason for this storm. They saw Jonah sleeping while the rest cried to their god. Let us see whether we have the sense of direction in our lives. They woke Jonah up and asked him as to who he was?. What his profession was, where he is coming from, which is his native place. He admitted that God had told him togo Tarshish but he disobeyed and took a ship to Nineveh. Immediately they took him and threw him in the sea. But God was with him. He was swallowed by a whale. In its belly he lay and was secure for three days. After three days the whale vomited him on the sand. God shows Himself as a Graceful, Merciful and Patient God, who forgies and calls us to repent- ance. God cares for the perishing 1,111,000 people than for a creeper which withers in a day or two. Christmas has gone by. | would like to thank all the prayer groups for the Christmas Carols. I'd lke to thank you for all the cooperation rendered during the house visits this season. The Harvest Festival has just finished. All the help rendered has gone for the Charity purposes " Swanthanam". The election for the new office bearers is coming soon. Please pray for that and also elect dedicated and those who have time for the work of the ministry. Harvest Festival and the programme ‘once again proved the fellowship and unit of the Church. | wholeheartedly appreciate the hard work and committed service of the office bearers and the Harvest Festival committe and the church members. The Maramon Convention starts on 9th February 2014 for a week till the 16th of February 2014. | request your prayerful support and participation during the convention. The lent season will start soon. Let this time be a time of dedication and commitment. The financial year end is on March 31st. Kindly send in all the contributions to the office.
