- Once audience is defined, Database Ops Team will need an updateaccounts or updateaccountsnc
file to upload. The file must contain the newsletter field exactly as it will appear in Clickshare,
Cheetah, and Salesforce. The data load will not be performed until CS, Cheetah and Salesforce
field changes are complete.
- If your opt-in list includes email addresses that are not registered as users in Clickshare, please
also provide an importAccounts file so that the user accounts can be created before loading the
updateaccounts/updateaccountsnc file.

For AMP: Marketing Automation (MA) Team Only:


Steps for AMP Team to complete:

1. Add a field in Cheetah Digital – in the Customer table as type Preference.


2. Create a filter for the newsletter option in the Campaigns  Editorial folder. Make sure that these
three fields are included in the filter definition:
emailActivated = true AND
CSStatus is not equal to disabled AND
Email_address Crain Alerts Bulk – BrandInitials (e.crainalerts.com) (1) Status ID > ‘1000’
3. Include the Cheetah newsletter opt-in field name as completed by the MA team in Step 2.1.
4. Record the Obj Ref ID of the filter for Crain Engineering and the filter name.
5. Update the Customer data map:
a. Go to Data Integration > Settings > Data Map > Customer
b. Select the new field from step 1
c. Click on the “+” button
d. Note the column number
e. Select “Save”
6. In the Crain Alerts Bulk sender profile, create the Friendly From Address and enter the name and
email address that the brand wants to use.
7. Send in request to the Product team for adding to NewsletterAdmin tool with following info:
a. Original brand ticket number
b. Newsletter request link
c. Field Name in Customer table
d. Filter’s Name and Obj Ref ID
e. Data Map column number
f. Friendly From Name and ID
