Flood-Popp Homework Expectations

My dance classes not only involve a rigorous physical practice but also an academic approach to develop a
well rounded dancer. To become a dancer who will surpass this generation one must be diverse and learned in their
history, theory and communication of the art of movement and dance, therefore it is crucial to maintain a strong
practice of the academic side of dance.

I will be giving the students all their assignments, mode of delivery (on paper or via OneNote) and due dates
for the 9 weeks at the beginning of the quarter. It will be the students responsibility to keep up with the dates and
assignments and turn them in on time (per MNPS grading policy). The following will be expected by the student to
ensure consistency.

1. All assignments will be posted under the CONTENT AREA titled “ ” 9 weeks grades.
A. Masteries: are practical grades (approx. 5) or exercises are scheduled (during lunch, study hall, or after
school) when the student feels prepared and when they have achieved their desired quality of performance.
Reflections of each skills test will be posted on OneNote directly under the CLASS NOTES tab on a page titled
“9 weeks masteries”. The exercises will be given in the at the beginning of the quarter and must be completed
(including all retakes) by the 8th week.
B. Dance articles: are handouts the dancer will read and answer 3 questions based off each article. These
questions will be posted directly under the journal tab. Each article should be on a separate page with the title
of the article as the heading.
C. History/Theory work: these will be handouts or articles posted on OneNote OR posted as a link to evernote.
This homework will be posted directly under the homework tab titled with the name of the assignment.

F. Class write outs due to illness injury or no dress: Specifications on when a student should write out class is
found in rules and guidelines which is posted on the website. If a student needs to write out class, they will do
so on a sheet a paper and then transfer their class notes to the CLASS NOTES tab. Each page should be a
separate write out with the date as the title and reason for writing out the class under the title. The write out
needs to be posted on one note by the end of that week. I will not allow students to take notes on their phone.
2. All assignments will be turned in via OneNote before or on the due date. Assignments will be given a specific tab
that it will be posted under (HOMEWORK, CLASS NOTES AND PORTFOLIO). I will not take late assignments or
assignments posted under the wrong tab.

policy for retakes.
4. Please review the following:
1. Rules and guidelines 2. Schedule of events 3. Portfolio requirements 4. Level requirements
