An Explanation of the Cover Illustration

The graphic on the title page of this paper is a combination of several elements. The Magen David (Shield of David) is familiar and
the outline is sourced from a natural creation, the sepals of the pomegranate. The pomegranate is one of the seven species identified
in Deuteronomy 8:8 as making the Land of Israel “a good land.” I suspect that the war shields used by King David were of this shape,
the points adding an offensive element to defensive armor. Since this design is strongly associated with the Jewish People, I use it here
to remind all that our Messiah Y’shua was of the tribe of Judah. The center element of the graphic is His name, Y’shua, stylized in a
Hebrew script and incorporated into a Menorah symbolizing Y’shua as the everlasting Light, and the Light of the World. The Hebrew
text that is inlaid into the Magen David is, Isaiah 62:1 “For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not
rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.” The colors that were
used represent to me a Heavenly Throne.

The Shield or Star of David

Here are some personal observations on this particular design,
symbol, and its associations. The red pomegranate pictured
here is the most typical variety that is native to the Land of
Israel. Of the fruit that grows on this most typical variety,
there are two typical configurations of the sepals, a five point
star and a six point star. Other varieties of pomegranates
can have many variations of the number of star points dis-
played on the fruit, ten, twelve or even more are possible. But
there is just NO DOUBT that these God-created designs of
the five and six point stars were adopted by humans FROM
THIS VERY SOURCE, the most typical variety of pome-
granate growing in the Promised Land. The second pho-
tograph here shows an ornamental variety of pomegranate
with its fruit of a beautiful deep purple color. This photo was
taken within sight of the walls of the Old City in Jerusalem.
As you will notice, the sepals are in fact the shield, or outer
protection, of the fruit itself. In addition to the possibil-
ity that the outline of the sepals may have been used as the
design of a war shield, other associations with the five and
six point stars happen to be to women and men. A man is
represented by the six point star and a woman is represented
by the five point star. Think about it, you will figure it out.
King Solomon used the five point star as a symbol marking
his possessions. I have seen the five point star stamped into
the wine jars from his reign.

But here is the sad part of this issue. Satan corrupts the
creations of God. His jealousy of our Creator is plain. Satan
was given many attributes but he was not given the ability
to create so his jealous fury has driven him to destroy. And
destroy he can. Just look around you at the chaos and gloom and the “dismal tide” that has covered the earth. The practitioners of the
occult have attached very dark associations to the five point star and the six point star. They know that these symbols represent male and
female and they are in the business, and it is a business, of corrupting men and women. The pagans have appropriated these symbols to
their own priestcraft. The priests of Satan use these symbols even though YOU can now clearly see that these are nothing more than
God-created designs. My point in saying all of this is that you should not be put off by the use of this symbol here and you should not
be put off by the use of the Magen David in the ensign of the State of Israel. All of the corrupted minds and ideas will one day fly away
with the wind, so do not fear to stand up for the things of God.
