b. Appreciate the significance of human skeleton.
c. Influence them to care their own physical body especially their skeleton.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:

a. TOPIC: Human Skeleton
b. REFERENCE: Science Learner Materials 4 pp.60
c. MATERIALS: Laptop, Projector
d. VALUES:

III. PROCEDURE/LESSON DEVELOPMENT

TEACHER ACTIVITY STUDENT ACTIVITY

I. Preparatory Activities
a. Greetings
Prosperous New Year People
Peace and all Good!!! Prosperous New Year Peace and all Good!!!

b. Let us pray to be lead by Chabelita. Let

us put ourselves in the presence of
God. Ms. Chabelita will lead the prayer

c. Checking of attendance class is there

any absent today? None Ma’am

d. Motivation
I prepared a Skeleton Dance
For you to observe what our
lesson is for today, Please stand
and follow the dance master
steps. (students will do as told)

I. Learning Activities
Introduction:
Our lesson for today has something
reflect the dance activity a while ago.
Class, what did you observed about our
activity? It has movements and steps

Yes, another observation? And if it has movement it requires body system Sir.

And what is the body system?

Skeletal system Sir.
Our topic for today is skeletal system.
Lesson Proper
We know that all of us has bone right?
Yes, Ma’am
Do you know what those bones are?
Yes, Ma’am
Can you name one?

Yes, What else? Skull

More? Ribs

Patella
Okay as we start our proper discussion for
today, let’s see if our answer is correct.

Discussion
I have here a Power Point Presentation
for you to identify the parts and function
of Human Skeleton. Do you understand
class?

But before that we define first what the Yes, Ma’am

meaning of skeletal system is.
Skeletal system is the framework of our body
providing structure protection and movement. And
And when we talk about bones that make it composes of bones.
up the skeletal system you are simply
talking about the skeleton.
Kindly read it.
Skeleton is made up of many bones that are joined
together to make a structure. It is like a frame that
gives your body shape and support. It supports your
body as you move.
It means that some of the parts of
skeleton protect and support the vital
parts or internal organs of our body. Do
you understand class?
Yes Ma’am.
We now proceed to different parts of
skeletal and some of those parts have a
function.
Kindly read the first part.
(The teacher will flash a discourse)
Skull is a bony structure in the head of most
vertebrates that supports the structure of face and
forms a protective cavity for the brain.
Skull is the most important of human
skeleton, because it protects the main
organ which is the brain It is hard and
strong but it can be cracked if it receives a
severe blow.

Am I correct class?

And the Second Part is… Yes, Ma’am

Kindly read.
Jaw is any opposable articulated structure at the
entrance of the mount, typically used for grasping
and manipulating food.
Our Jawbones support the teeth and
gums enabling is to bite and chew our
foods.

The next part is spinal column.

Please read it.
The spine or vertebral column is a series of
irregularly shaped bones in the back that connects
to the skull.
Our spinal column is very sensitive so we
must care it even just in a small every
accident because it can cause damage
and crack. And cannot move quickly
because it affects your brain. Spinal
column holds your head and body
straight.
Did you get me class?
Yes Ma’am
The next part is…
Please read.
Sternum or breastbone is a long flat bone shaped
like a necktie located in the center of the chest.

And it holds the ribs via cartilage to

support the formation of the ribcage.
And what is a Rib?
Kindly read it.

Ribs are the long curved bones which form the rib
cage. Ribs surround the chest, enabling the lungs to
expanding the chest activity.
It serves to protect lungs, heart and
Other internal organs of the body.
Okay next part…

Humerus a long bone in the arm or forelimb that

runs the shoulder to the elbow. It connects the
scapula and the two bones of the lower arm, radius
and ulna, and consists of 3 sections.
It supports the radius, ulna and the finger
Bones to move them together and stretch
It because of joint.

The next one is radius.

Please read.

Radius is more lateral and slightly shorter of the 2

forearms bones. It is found on the thumb side of the
forearm and rotates to allow the hand pivot at the
wrist.
And the other one is…

Ulna is one of the 2 long bones in the forearm.

Both radius and ulna are joint together
and they support the bone of a palm.

And the next part.

Kindly read.

The hipbones are too large bones attached to each

side of the sacrum. Together they form the pelvic
girdle. The pelvic girdle holds the weight of your
body.
It supports our body when we sit.

The next part is femur.

Please read.
Femur is the most proximal bone of the leg inn tetra
pad vertebrates capable of walking.
It also the largest and longest bone in our
body.

The next one is Patella.

Please read.

Patella known as knee cap is a thick circular

triangular bone which circulates with the femur and
covers and protects the interior articular surface of
the knee joint.
It covers knee when they are kneeling and
control by the hinge joint when we
stretch the femur.
And the last part is…
Kindly read class.
Fibula a leg bone located on the lateral side of the
tibia, with which it is connected above and below. It
is the smaller of the two bones and in proportion to
its length, the slenderest of all the long bones.

And those are some parts of Human

Skeleton.

Is there any question or clarification?

None Ma’am
I. Evaluation
Now, I have here a picture of Human

Skeleton that we should care to protect

the organ from the things that is hard

and strong.

Label the parts of Human Skeleton of

what is being asked by an arrow head.

Did you understand class?

Yes Ma’am

(the teacher will facilitate the activity)

II. Generalization
Those are parts of Human Skeleton

that we should care in order to

protect the organ from the things that

is hard and strong because it can be

receives a severe blow or crack in just

a little destruction.

And how would you maintain and

build the strong of your bones? We must exercise regularly to maintain the maturity
of our bones especially to the young and adult.

Yes, what else?

Drink milk with high in calcium to sustain the growth
of our bones.

That’s right. Very good class!

III. Assignment
For your assignment, kindly read it. What are the 3 kinds of joints?
How do they move?
Give examples of each kind.
Please copy your homework.
(students will do as told)

Are you done class?

Yes Ma’am

Okay, again is there any question about

our topic? None Ma’am.

If none see you next meeting.

Goodbye class!
Goodbye Ma’am.
