DS 160 Boom Length Measuring Channel

Measuring Current:
The Ammeter A is used to measure current at the input signal. Remove the wire from
X1:34 terminal in the central unit and measure with the ammeter in series. The
measurement should be between 4mA to 20mA.
Measuring Voltage:
The voltmeter V is used to measure voltage between pins X1:34 (length signal) and
X1:39 (gnd.) on the main board. The conversion of 4mA to voltage of 1.0 V is due to
the resistor circuit on the main board.

Piston and Rod Pressure Transducers

Operation: The system sensors provide a 4mA to 20mA output; however due to
a fixed resistor circuit in the central unit, the input signal can be measured using
a ammeter ( current ) or voltmeter (voltage).
The input signal operating window is 4mA to 20mA, measured in series at the
analog input terminal or 1.0 v to 4.9 v measured in parallel between the analog
input and ground terminals. At 4mA the voltage is 1.0v and at 20mA the voltage
is 4.9 v.
When troubleshooting the system, a current or voltage needs to be measured
to determine the status or condition of the sensor.

DS 160 Piston Side Load Sensor

Troubleshooting a Load Reading Problem:

Measuring Current:
Using a ammeter measure the current at the piston side input signal. remove the wire
from X1:32 terminal in the central unit, measure the current between terminal X1:32
and wire 2 in series. measurement should be between 4mA to 20mA.
Measuring Voltage:
Using the voltmeter measure the voltage between X1:32 and X1:36 on the main board
measurement should be between 1.0 v to 4.9 v.
