The Student Association of the Department of Information Technology (S@IT) of the Faculty of
Management studies and Commerce of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura would like to submit a

live in concert. This event will be done to raise funds for our Annual Community Service project

 University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka
University of Sri Jayewardenepura, is recognized as the center
of excellence in Management Studies and commerce in the
South Asian region. It nurtures an internal student population
of about 10,000 belonging to seven faculties. Namely,
Management Studies and Commerce, Applied Science,
Humanities and Social Science, Technology, Engineering and
Postgraduate Studies.

Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce
The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC) of
the University of Sri Jayewardenepura has been and continues
to be in the forefront of Management education and in the
advancement of development and change in Sri Lanka. It
continues to focus on programs and engagements towards
the main strategic theme of being the “Center of Excellence in
Management Studies” in the country.
The FMSC offers learning heightened by cutting-edge
research and innovation with a rare combination of practical
and relevant knowledge and transferable skills, which are
essential for teamwork, communication and leadership to
build the career life of the graduates. The FMSC of USJP can
be therefore identified as a dynamic, forward looking and
modern faculty and by being a part of the FMSC you will find
intellectual challenge and stimulation in a highly competitive
environment.
 Department of Information Technology
The Department of Information Technology (IT) was
established in the year 2007. It offers a degree program
which blends management and Information Technology
disciplines while maximizing the soft skills of the student. It
is the first degree program in such nature, that is offered to
students in the Advanced Level Commerce stream.
To achieve the objective of the degree program, graduates
are equipped with theoretical knowledge as well as
practical experience in Management, Information Systems
and Information Technology. The Department of
Information Technology is the only government university
that holds an access point for students who have sat for the
G. C. E. Advanced Level in the commerce stream while
having an interest in pursuing IT.
Student Association of Information Technology
(S@IT)
Students’ Association of Information Technology (S@IT) is
the student body affiliated to the Department of
Information Technology. The association carries out various
academic and social activities such as arranging seminars,
workshops, field visits and student get-togethers to develop
knowledge, skills and research abilities of students.
All-in-all, S@IT is regarded as a well-known and the most

Project concept
 Walking down the memory lane

WAYO is a renowned musical group who has being in the industry

since May 2012 providing sought after public entertainment in its
finest quality. Capturing the hearts of many musical devotees,
WAYO has not failed to provide an exception series of concerts to
their fanatics.

The Student Association of the Department of Information

Technology of the Management faculty of the University of Sri
Jayewardenepura has had a successful history of hosting an event
with WAYO, in the year 2014. The event went under the name
“WAYO UNPLUGGED 2014”. This event managed to capture the
hearts of many musical devotees and we hope to host a similar
show to relive the memories and make new and better memories
this year as well.

Project OBJECTIVE
Objectives of the event
“With the funds raised from this event, we hope to
launch a CSR project [E-nanasara by S@IT] where
we aspire to equip a rural village with digital
devices to enlighten the digital age among students
living in underprivileged areas in Sri Lanka, with the
focus of reducing the impact of digital divide. If this
initiative appears to be a success this year, we hope
to continue this worthy endeavor for the years
ahead.”
