Unlike other subjects that I have studied until now criminal law is the only one that I was most
familiar with because of my obsession for crime dramas but apart from that crime is something
of which every person has general understanding because it happens all the time. The difference
is that studying criminal law is not the same as reading a newspaper article about some crime or
watching a TV show or film which I realized during my 3rd semester when I actually had
criminal law as a subject and the understanding grew deeper in the 4th semester when I studied
Code of criminal Procedure and Evidence Act. You get a more comprehensive knowledge of
how actually trial proceeds, how to charge a person of offences, then how to prove or disapprove
it, there are lot of defences and so much more. There are so many justifications for the person
who commit the private defence, battered woman syndrome, involuntary intoxication, insanity,
etc. It’s not just that you commit a crime and you are a criminal you need to prove the intent. All
this really fascinates me because unlike other law subjects in this one we need to think like a
human and what can be more interesting than a human mind. There is nothing write and wrong
in this subject it operates in a gray area and that is what makes it so interesting to me. I am
interested to know more about criminal law because all these semesters in law school, this is one
branch of law that really interests me and being a part of this center I got be close to the subject
of my liking. I will help this center in all the ways I can by giving my time and support to its
