Potash is a potassium-rich salt, which the term "potash" refers to a group of potassium (K)
bearing minerals and chemicals. Sylvinite, Carnallitite and Kainitite are some of the
potassium bearing solid salts. Potassium makes up about 2.6% of the Earth’s crust by mass
and is the seventh most abundant element.

The main use of potash, which is about 90%, of the production is used in agricultural
sector as a fertilizer. That means the market is driven by the demand of feeding the world
population. The major potash-consuming nation being Brazil, India, China, Indonesia to
name a few.
