Activity, Deliverable and Chapter Mapping
cases
• Singapore Ministry of Defense had gone for SAP
implementation for its different units like Navy,
Air Force and Ground force. The implementation
first started in its navy business where the global
template was built and afterwards the same was
rolled out to air force and ground force division.

• Nestle ERP implementation project known as

‘Globe’ is a good example of rollout and modular
approach.
5
Data Migration

6
Data Glitches
• Changes in data layout / data types
• Changes in scale / format (dollars vs. euros)
• Inconsistent values for a single entity because different
practices were used
• Typing mistakes

• Training Delivery
– Face to face training
• Instructor let training
• Workshop
• Seminar
– Self paced learning
• E-learning
• Web lecture
• Self study
• Quick reference guide
• System simulations 10
Training Model: Awareness to Ability
• Show/Tell
– “I can see how that is done”
• Practice
– “I can try it for myself”
• Assess
– “I can try it again, and check I have done it
correctly”
• Reinforce
– “I am clear how to do it and I will remember”

Change Management

12
BUT when you say Change, They say:

• “This is a waste of time.”

• “Why change if it was working just fine before?”
• “If it isn't broken, don't fix it.”
• “They never tell us what’s going on!”
• “How soon will this happen?”
• “How will this impact me?”
• “Will I receive new training?”
• “What’s in it for me.”
• “I doubt they are really serious about this.”
