Resumen

El presente trabajo corresponde el Análisis de la Sostenibilidad del Cantón Nobol, cuya

cabecera cantonal es Narcisa de Jesús. Primero, se realizó una investigación sobre las
normas ambientales que debían cumplir los municipios para garantizar la salud de sus
habitantes y sobre algunos cantones potenciales a ser evaluados. Se seleccionó el
cantón Nobol, ubicado en la provincia del Guayas. Se elaboró una Lista de control con
varias secciones, tales como: calidad del aire, tratamiento de aguas residuales, calidad
del agua potable y gestión de Residuos Sólidos. Luego, se visitó el cantón para identificar
las conformidades y no conformidades en el mismo. Además, se realizaron entrevistas a
varios encargados de las diferentes áreas de interés. Se visitó ECAPAN, empresa
encargada de la distribución del agua potable y del tratamiento de aguas residuales, y
con la ayuda del Ing. Segundo Castañeda pudimos inspeccionar el sistema de bombeo,
las piscinas de aguas residuales y el lugar de disposición final del agua residual.
También, se visitó el botadero a cielo abierto, lugar donde se lleva a cabo la recolección
de los residuos sólidos del cantón, el cual no tenía ningún tipo de control y estaba
contaminando el medio ambiente a su alrededor. Adicionalmente se realizaron encuestas
a los habitantes del cantón Nobol en diferentes zonas para conocer la perspectiva de
cada persona con respecto a los problemas medio ambientales que lo rodean.
Una vez recolectada toda la información, se elaboró un análisis exhaustivo. Se elaboraron
las medidas sugeridas a aplicar para resolver las no conformidades identificadas y se
colocaron en unas fichas descriptivas. Se elaboró una matriz de resumen de las medidas.
Se bosquejó un ecomapa para identificar fácilmente los puntos críticos del cantón,
lugares donde llega el agua potable, zonas de recolección de residuos sólidos, zonas de
alto ruido, etc. Se desarrolló un eco balance general del cantón. Se analizaron los riesgos
que podían ser consecuencia de las no conformidades halladas. Y finalmente, se
documentó toda la información posible, y se describieron los hallazgos destacados del
cantón y se escribieron conclusiones del trabajo final.

SUSTAINABILITY ANALYSIS IN THE CANTON NOBOL

The present work corresponds to the Analysis of the Sustainability of Canton Nobol,
whose cantonal head is Narcisa de Jesús. First, an investigation was carried out on the
environmental norms that municipalities must comply with in order to guarantee the health
of their inhabitants and in some cantons. We selected the canton Nobol, located in the
province of Guayas. A checklist was prepared with several sections, such as: air quality,
wastewater treatment, drinking water quality and solid waste management. Then, the
canton was visited to identify the conformities and conformities in it. In addition, interviews
were conducted with several people in charge of the different areas of interest. We visited
ECAPAN, company responsible for the distribution of drinking water and wastewater
treatment, and with the help of the engineer Segundo Castañeda we were able to inspect
the pumping system, the wastewater pools and the place of the final disposal of the
wastewater. Also, the open-air dump was visited, where the collection of the solid waste
of the canton takes place, which had no control and was contaminating the environment
around it. In addition, surveys were carried out to the inhabitants of the Nobol canton in
different areas to know the perspective of each person regarding the environmental
problems that surround it. Once all the information was collected, a thorough analysis
was developed. The suggested measures to be applied were developed to resolve the
identified nonconformities and they were placed in descriptive sheets. A summary matrix
of the measures was drawn up. An ecomapa was designed to easily identify the critical
points of the canton, places where drinking water arrives, solid waste collection areas,
high noise areas, etc. A general eco balance of the canton was developed. The risks that
could be a consequence of the non-conformities found were analyzed. And finally, all the
possible information was documented, and the outstanding findings of the canton were
described, and conclusions of the final work were written.
