Homework 3 Checklist
Submit by 10/06

Design 2 postcards and 1 Folded (Greeting) Card (3 different sizes: 4.25X6”, 5X7”,
6X7”) for Annual Byzantine Conference. Use the week4_homework.zip file from cTools.
Reuse text, image (s) and logotypes for each of the cards. Follow USPS requirements
for back panels. Front panels - orientation is optional. Folded card back can be a mailer.

3 cards (front and back for cards 4.25X6 and 5X7 on 1 page - printed on
8.5 X 11” paper, 6X11 - print front and back on separate sheets, allow to fit
in the printing area), Kuler screenshots or Illustrator color scheme,
submission checklist, 1-2 sketches + folded card mockup (front and back)

Concept developed. Unity in the design is maintained. 15

Photos and colors used for design are coordinated. Alignment is maintained 15
and Rule of thirds /Grid is applied. Emphasis is added to the important
information (title, dates, location)

All sponsor logotypes are included, have consistent size and alignment 5

Technical specifications: bleeds and trim marks are set and are visible on 15
your print, safety area is maintained, CMYK color model is used. Postcards
(6X11 and 4.25X6) have indicia and place for address

If any images are used in your design, their brightness, contrast, hue 5
and saturation parameters have to be adjusted with Photoshop

Folded card mockup has correct orientation (refer to the presentation 5


slides)

Color scheme and postcards files are converted to .pdf binder and 10
uploaded to Scribd

The Byzantine Studies Conference is an


annual forum for the presentation and
discussion of papers embodying current
research on all aspects of Byzantine history
and culture. Two items from University of
Michigan collections will be discussed in
papers given at the conference: the smaller
of two fragments of an early papyrus roll
with a later Byzantine codex (Ms. 50).

The Byzantine Studies Conference is an annual forum for
