Agriculture Sector Modernisation Project (World Bank)

Ministry of Primary Industries
Through,
Mrs.Priya Hemachandra Gamage
The Secretary to the Hon. Minister
Ministry of Primary Industries,
World Bank Project
Battaramulla.

6th June 2018.

Dear Madam,
Agricultural Sector Modernisation Project (World Bank)

It is highly appreciated for the provision of a matching grant (MGS) for this Agriculture -
based business which is commercial and export - oriented in order to improve our
productivity and to diversify to receive the competitive advantage and strengthen our
capacity to have economies of scale through this trade partnership of the Ministry of Primary
Industries and the World Bank. Further, it will help us to improve our value chain with
diversification away from traditional systems to a higher value with the help of the modern
agricultural technology which is highly capital intensive where it is not affordable for us due
to the weaker financial situation.

Also, I surely expect to create a certain amount of job opportunities while accessing the
export markets and increasing the productivity to receive the competitive advantage to the
business. Entirely we use only local ingredients from the local farmers and would be able
to pay fair prices at the farmgate itself due to lack of intermediaries in the supply chain
process. Herewith, I am forwarding the attached proposal for your kind consideration to seek
your financial and technical assistance under the agricultural sector modernisation project
(MGS - World Bank) grants, please.

I highly appreciate if you could favourably consider my request, please.

Yours sincerely,

Tharaka Ilangamge

Availability of Capital Equipment

According to the process of production it requires many equipment and machineries in respect

item, worth Rs. 1 million as per the market price.

Budget

As per the product description it requires the modern agricultural technology which helps to
enhance the efficiency and the productivity of the business while helping to reduce the average
costs. Presently we have been facing a considerable amount of financial constraints in order
to purchase the needy due to higher costs of capital. However, we were fortunate enough to
purchase an industrial scale dryer for our dehydration process which is one of the most
important stages of the production line. It required other related items as per the following
budget proposal in order to continue and add value to process.
