Table 4-1 Check Items for the Installation of the Antenna, Combiner, and ZXMW NR8950
Item Requirement
1 The installation position and direction of the antenna meet the engineering design
requirements.
2 The antenna is installed with a correct orientation; that is, the side with a larger area faces
upwards while the side with a smaller area faces downwards.
3 The support of the antenna is firmly fixed to the pole, meeting the wind resistance
requirements.
6 The antenna, combiner, and ZXMW NR8950 are in the coverage of the lightning rod. The
protection angle of the antenna's lightning rod should be less than 45° in general, and less
than 30° in the areas with high mountains or frequent thunderstorms.
Item Requirement
1 The installation position and direction of the ZXMW NR8950's adapter meet the engineering
design requirements.
2 The adapter of the ZXMW NR8950 is firmly fixed to the pole, meeting the wind resistance
requirements.
3 The four screws of the antenna adapter are fastened on the antenna tightly.
4 The flange interfaces of the flexible waveguide are connected to the ZXMW NR8950's
adapter and antenna adapter (or the antenna) firmly and reliably.
4-1
Item Requirement
5 The bending radius of the flexible waveguide does not exceed the allowable value, with a
torsional angle not more than 90°.
6 The components for separate-installation are in the coverage of the lightning rod. The
protection angle of the antenna's lightning rod should be less than 45° in general, and less

Table 4-3 Check Items for Cable Installation of the ZXMW NR8950
Item Requirement
1 The cable layout meets the engineering design requirements for easy maintenance and
capacity expansion.
2 The cables are in good condition without any damage, breakage, or in-between joint.
3 The cables are laid in order and bundled with a proper force, with even spacing between
cable ties. The unwanted part of the ties are cut after bundling, leaving no sharp edges.
5 The protection tube of the fiber pigtail is bundled and fixed inside the cabinet.
6 The protection tube of the fiber pigtail is cut smoothly and, if necessary, wrapped with
insulating tapes at the cut to protect against injuries.
7 The fiber pigtail is not bundled too tightly. It is desirable for the fiber pigtail to be drawn
out of the cable ties easily.
8 The fiber pigtail is laid without other cables or objects placed on it.
9 The joint of the fiber pigtail is clean and dust-free. Unused fiber connectors and optical
interfaces on a board are covered with protection caps or plugs.
10 The cable bends are smooth and round, with a bending radius as large as possible.
11 The signal cables are labelled properly with all labels in good order and in the same
direction. They are recommended to be labelled 2 cm from the plug. Labels can be made at
the request of customers.
12 Unused cable connectors are covered with, for example, protection caps.
4-2
Table 4-4 Check Items for Installation of the Cabinet's Power Cable and Grounding
Cable

for easy maintenance and capacity expansion.
3 The cross-sectional area of the power cable and grounding cable satisfies the power supply
requirements of the equipment.
4 The core of the power cable and grounding cable is made of an integrated copper wire
without any joint.
5 When the power cable or grounding cable is connected to the primary power supply, copper

9 The power cable or grounding cable is welded or crimped to the cable lug securely.
10 The cable lug's handle and the bare part of the power cable or grounding cable are wrapped
by tube or insulating tape. There is no bare copper wire at the cable lugs and terminals, and
the flat washer and spring washer are installed correctly.
11 Inside the cabinet, all the devices with metal casings are grounded correctly and connected
reliably.
12 The power cable and grounding cable are labelled properly with all labels in good order
and in the same direction. They are recommended to be labelled 2 cm from the plug.

Context
l The antenna azimuth can be finely adjusted in a range of ±15°.
l If this range is not big enough for actual applications, users can change the position
of the anti-falling angle steel before adjusting the azimuth. In that case, a U-clamp
must be used to fix the bracket.

Steps
1. Make a coarse adjustment of the antenna azimuth.
a. Remove the azimuth fine-adjustment screw and the bracket fastening bolt.
b. Loosen the nut on the U-clamp and the setting screw on the reinforcing rod slightly.
c. Push the antenna or reinforcing rod gently, and adjust the antenna azimuth around
the pole.
Warning!
During the adjustment, make sure that the bracket does not fall from the anti-falling
angle steel to avoid any accident.
2. Roughly determine the antenna azimuth visually or with a compass according to the
circuit design.
3. Fasten all the components that were loosened during the adjustment.
