The organoleptic evaluation of coffee quality aspects of the eligible candidates for the post
of Assistant Specialist – Coffee Quality in Coffee Board was scheduled to be held on
09.07.2016 (Saturday) at 9.00 AM and the Written examination for the candidates qualified in
the Organoleptic Evaluation of Coffee Quality Aspects was scheduled to be held on 09.07.2016
(Saturday) at 2.00 PM at No.1, Coffee Board, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Veedhi, Bengaluru – 560
001, as communicated vide this office letter cited at reference (1). But, the said organoleptic
evaluation and the written examination stood postponed due to administrative reasons, as
communicated vide this office letter cited at reference (2).

Now, the organoleptic evaluation of coffee quality aspects of the eligible candidates for the
post of Assistant Specialist – Coffee Quality in Coffee Board is rescheduled to be held on
30.07.2016 (Saturday) at 9.00 AM and the written examination for filling up the vacancies in the
cadre of Assistant Specialist - Coffee Quality is rescheduled to be held at Coffee Board, Head
Office, Bengaluru on 30.07.2016 (Saturday) at 2 pm to 4 pm.

With reference to the subject cited above, this is to inform you that, for recruitment to the post of
Assistant Specialist – Coffee Quality for which you have applied, you are requested to appear for
an Organoleptic Evaluation of Coffee Quality Aspects before the Evaluation Committee, at 8.30
AM on 30.07.2016 (Saturday), at Coffee Board, No. 1, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Veedhi,
Bengaluru – 560 001.

Further, written examination will be conducted in light of the recent directions of the DoP&T cited
at reference (2). Hence, the candidates who qualify in the Organoleptic Evaluation of Coffee
Quality Aspects are required to appear for written examination at 2.00 PM on 09.07.2016
(Saturday).

The following is brought to your notice:

1) The Organoleptic evaluation of Coffee Quality Aspects will be conducted at No.1, Coffee Board,
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Veedhi, Bengaluru – 560 001, at 8.30 AM on 09.07.2016 (Saturday)

2) The Written examination for the candidates qualified in the Organoleptic Evaluation of Coffee
Quality Aspects will be conducted at No.1, Coffee Board, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Veedhi,
Bengaluru – 560 001, at 2.00 PM on 09.07.2016 (Saturday):

 The objective type OMR based written examination will be for 200 marks
 There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
 Duration of the Exam: 2 hours
 Timings: 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM

3) You shall note the date of Organoleptic Evaluation of Coffee Quality and the Written
Examination as mentioned above are liable to be changed. Therefore, changes if any, in

the date of examination will be notified in the Coffee Board’s website
www.indiacoffee.org
4) The written examination will be in English only.
5) The syllabus for the written examination are annexed as Annexure-I.
6) The distribution of marks for each unit of the syllabus is as under:

7) This letter shall be treated as admit card/call letter for entry into the Organoleptic Evaluation on
Coffee Quality Aspects and Written Examination venue.

8) You will not be allowed to attend the Organoleptic Evaluation on Coffee Quality Aspects and
the written examination unless you hold this letter along with you.

9) You have to bring one original Identity proof along with photocopy of the same Identity proof to
the Organoleptic Evaluation on Coffee Quality Aspects Venue and the Written Examination
center.

10) If on verification at any later stage, it is found that you do not fulfill any of the eligibility
condition(s) or you have given wrong/incorrect/misleading/false information, either intentionally
or otherwise by error of omission or commission, your candidature will be cancelled/rejected
and fee paid, if any, will be forfeited, including indications of any other action as deemed fit by
the Board.

11) Mere participation in the Organoleptic Evaluation on Coffee Quality Aspects and subsequently
in the written examination does not ensure that you are selected for the post. The selection of
candidates for the post would be based on category-wise merit in the written examination.

12) You are not eligible for travelling allowances from the place of travel to the place of
examination and you have to make your own arrangements for travel as well as
boarding/lodging during the period of your stay in Bengaluru for the written examination.

regularly visit the Coffee Board’s website for the updates relating to the written examination.

PART-1 (100 marks)

C) Coffee Quality

Unit-1: General chemistry of food constituents, physical properties of


foods
Unit-2: Engineering properties of food materials
Unit-3: Role of intrinsic and extrinsic properties of food in relation to
microbial growth
Unit 4: Post -Harvest Handling and storage of Fruits and Vegetables
Unit 5: Preparation and manufacturing technology of cereals and bakery
products, beef, pork, poultry, fish & sea foods and egg, sausages
and
table ready meats, dairy products, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables,
processed fruits, processed vegetables.
