Abstract
One of the areas in East Java which has rock phosphate
reserves are Madura. Geological formation of the rock phosphate
contained in Madura are generally in the form of guano
phosphate precipitate which has the nature, distribution and
limited resources.
To obtain information on the estimation of the presence
of phosphate rock in Saronggi district, remote sensing technology
via satellite image interpretation can be used to describe the
condition of the earth's surface are estimated potential phosphate
content. In addition geoelectric method is applied to describe the
condition of the earth's subsurface based rock resistivity value.
The depiction of the condition of the surface is obtained
from the processing of Landsat-7 ETM + in 2009 to get an idea of
the condition of land cover and vegetation density SAVI.
Processing of Landsat-7 ETM + in 2001 with the Aster GDEM to
obtain geological interpretation.Geological maps and height /
slope map of the data in Aster GDEM will be overlayed right with
the image processing results to support the determination of the
potential of phosphate rock.
Results of this study indicate that the area has the
potential of rock phosphate at Saronggi District is Kambingan
Timur, Talang, Aengtong-tong, Saronggi, Nambakor, Tanah
Merah, Saroka, Kebundadap Barat, Kebundadap Timur,
v
Pagarbatu and Langsar Village. Where by in situ observation of
Langsar Village has outcrops of phosphate rock at low heights
about ± 90 meters.
For geological interpretation, it was found that the
geology formation of Langsar village is Madura Formation about
939.15 Ha. At Madura formations that have cavities it is possible
to place the formation of phosphate which is a type of guano
phosphate. It also found that having obtained the liniament
direction SW 109º NE (Northeast-Southwest).
Results of this study indicate that the area has the
potential to have a predominance of phosphate rock in the form of
dry land cover / fields and shrubs with each medium vegetation
density (-0336 - 0149) and rare (-0343 - 0001). The area of dry
land / farm is 713.88 ha and the area of shrubs is 135.72 Ha.
With a relatively low altitude and slope of land is relatively flat,
allowing the growth of plants that are typical of the area
potentially phosphate. Resistivity value of phosphate rock in the
area ranged between 95-291 Ωm. The area of phosphate based
geoelectric data are 1.11 Hectares.
