At 3rd level, a monk gains the Monastic Tradition feature. The
following option is available to a monk, in addition to the options offered in the Players Handbook. Way of the Reaching Winds The monks who follow this path carry the speed of the tempest within them. Striking with weapons at the speed of the storm itself, they use reaching weapons to expand their sphere of influence and batter any enemy that comes near them with a hurricane of blows. Weapons of the Winds When you choose this tradition, at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in all martial melee weapons that have the reach property, and those weapons count as monk weapons for you. Gust Strike Also, at 3rd level, when you use your Flurry of Blows while wielding a reach weapon, you can extend the distance of flurry to 10 feet and change its damage type to that of the weapon. You can spend 2 ki points when you make a weapon attack with a reach weapon to strike with the force of wind. Your weapon attack strikes in a 15 foot cone in front of you, and a 15x20 line of wind strikes out from the edge of the blade. This deals 1d6 magical slashing damage, which increases by 1d6 at 6th, 11th, and 17th levels. Hurricane Stance Starting at 6th level, you become adept at outmaneuvering your enemies. As a reaction to being hit with a melee weapon attack, you may spend 1 ki point to try to deflect the blow. Reduce the damage by 1d8 + your Dexterity modifier + your monk level. If you reduce the damage to 0 you may make a melee weapon attack on the attacker as part of the same reaction, and if you hit, they are shoved 15 feet away from you. Gale Strike At 11th level, the force of your strikes pushes back all around you. Whenever you make an attack with a reach weapon against a creature, you push them back 10 feet. Additionally, you may spend 2 ki points to coat your spear in lightning, dealing an additional 1d8 lightning damage for the next minute. Culling Tempest At 17th level, you harness the full power of your inner tempest. As an action, you can spend 4 ki points to send out a wave of thunder damage in a 40-by-10 foot line emanating Credit from yourself. All creatures in the area of the line must Made using GMBinder succeed on a Dexterity saving throw, taking 4d8 thunder Created by /u/Emperorsnek. damage, or half that on a success.
