I. GENERAL

In the past, maintaining operational equipment has become more and more
important.

The objective is to achieve an optimal usage and extended service life of

transformer and to reduce the number of unexpected failures.

Apart from detecting faults at an early stage, saving cost is an essential aspect
as regards the maintenance of transformers. High availability means an increase
in your efficiency and thus also in your profitability.

Gas In Oil Analysis

A gas in oil analysis or dissolve gas anatysis is the quantitative analysis of the
gasses solved in the oil. The analysis is perfcirmed by extracting the gasses from
the oil and subsequently carrying out a gas chromatography. The gas in oil
aha$sis makes it possible to determine changes due to aging and to recognize
transformer malfunction at an early stage.

Fault statistics make it possible to establish a simple connection between the

fault type and the type of speciff gas formed.

However, it is not possible to draw the conclusion that detecting one of the
above mentioned gasses is indicative of the corresponding fault, as each of these
gasses may also formed in the case of different faults.
Thus, it is necessary not only to know the absolute gas quantities but also to
determine certain ratios of fault indicator gas concentrations.
Depending on the selection of these ratios, different schemes of interprehtions
will be obtained.

SUMMARY

Based on the analysis result, gas Carbon Dioxide (CO2) & Hydrogen (H2) exceed the standard value
according to IEEE C.57.104-1991, which indicate degradation of cellulose & electrical fault,
not necessary occuring at present time.

We suggest :
* Purification &.reconditioning transformer oil, in order to remove sludge (oxidation product htween
cellulose & oil) on winding & to maintain the quality of transformer oil.
ftResampling within 12 (twelve) months.
