not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once
put off].

Philippians 2:5
Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let
Him be your example in humility.

[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you
[energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good
pleasure and satisfaction and delight.

glory of this mystery, which is Christ within and among you, the Hope of [realizing the] glory.

Titus 2:14
Who gave Himself on our behalf that He might redeem us (purchase our freedom) from all
iniquity and purify for Himself a people [to be peculiarly His own, people who are] eager and
enthusiastic about [living a life that is good and filled with] beneficial deeds.

Titus 3:7
[And He did it in order] that we might be justified by His grace (by His favor, wholly
undeserved), [that we might be acknowledged and counted as conformed to the divine will in
purpose, thought, and action], and that we might become heirs of eternal life
according to [our] hope.

Hebrews 2:9-11
v. 9 But we are able to see Jesus, Who was ranked lower than the angels for a little while,
crowned with glory and honor because of His having suffered death, in order that by the grace
(unmerited favor) of God [to us sinners] He might experience death for every individual person.
v. 10 For it was an act worthy [of God] and fitting [to the divine nature] that He, for Whose sake
and by Whom all things have their existence, in bringing many sons into glory, should make the
Pioneer of their salvation perfect [should bring to maturity the human experience necessary to be
perfectly equipped for His office as High Priest] through suffering.
v. 11 For both He Who sanctifies [making men holy] and those who are sanctified all have one
[Father]. For this reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren.

Hebrews 2:14-15
v. 14 Since, therefore, [these His] children share in flesh and blood [in the physical nature of
human beings], He [Himself] in a similar manner partook of the same [nature], that by [going
through] death He might bring to nought and make of no effect him who had the power of death–
that is, the devil–
v. 15 And also that He might deliver and completely set free all those who through the [haunting]
fear of death were held in bondage throughout the whole course of their lives.

Hebrews 2:18

able [immediately] to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and tested
and tried [and who therefore are being exposed to suffering].

Hebrews 4:14-16
v. 14 Inasmuch then as we have a great High Priest Who has [already] ascended and passed
through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith in Him].
v. 15 For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a
shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but
One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning.
v. 16 Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the
throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and
find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just
when we need it].

Hebrews 7:19, 22
v. 19 For the Law never made anything perfect–but instead a better hope is introduced through
which we [now] come close to God.

better (stronger) agreement [a more excellent and more advantageous covenant].

Hebrews 8:6
But as it now is, He [Christ] has acquired a [priestly] ministry which is as much superior and
more excellent [than the old] as the covenant (the agreement) of which He is the Mediator (the
Arbiter, Agent) is superior and more excellent, [because] it is enacted and rests upon more
important (sublimer, higher, and nobler) promises.

Hebrews 9:24, 28
v. 24 For Christ (the Messiah) has not entered into a sanctuary made with [human] hands, only a
copy and pattern and type of the true one, but [He has entered] into heaven itself, now to appear
in the [very] presence of God on our behalf.
v. 28 Even so it is that Christ, having been offered to take upon Himself and bear as a burden the
sins of many once and once for all, will appear a second time, not to carry any burden of sin nor
to deal with sin, but to bring to full salvation those who are [eagerly, constantly, and patiently]
waiting for and expecting Him.

Hebrews 10:14
For by a single offering He has forever completely cleansed and perfected those who are
consecrated and made holy.

Hebrews 13:5b-6
v. 5b For He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you
without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake
nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] v. 6 So we take comfort and are
encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with
alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?

Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

1 Peter 2:21, 24
v. 21 For even to this were you called [it is inseparable from your vocation]. For Christ also
suffered for you, leaving you [His personal] example, so that you should follow in His footsteps.
v. 24 He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered
Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds
you have been healed.

1 Peter 3:18
For Christ [the Messiah Himself] died for sins once for all, the Righteous for the unrighteous (the
Just for the unjust, the Innocent for the guilty), that He might bring us to God. In His human
body He was put to death, but He was made alive in the spirit.

1 Peter 5:7
Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and
for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

1 John 1:9
If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His
own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously]
cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose,
thought, and action].

1 John 2:1
My little children, I write you these things so that you may not violate God’s law and sin. But if

purpose, thought, and action].

1 John 3:2
Beloved, we are [even here and] now God’s children; it is not yet disclosed (made clear) what we

children] resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He [really] is.

1 John 3:14
We know that we have passed over out of death into Life by the fact that we love the brethren
(our fellow Christians). He who does not love abides (remains, is held and kept continually) in
[spiritual] death.

1 John 4:4
Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated and overcome
them [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he
who is in the world.

1 John 4:10
In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation
(the atoning sacrifice) for our sins.

Anyone who confesses (acknowledges, owns) that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides (lives,
makes His home) in him and he [abides, lives, makes his home] in God.
1 John 5:1, 4-5
v. 1 Everyone who believes (adheres to, trusts, and relies on the fact) that Jesus is the Christ (the
Messiah) is a born-again child of God; and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one
born of Him (His offspring).
v. 4 For whatever is born of God is victorious over the world; and this is the victory that
conquers the world, even our faith.
v. 5 Who is it that is victorious over [that conquers] the world but he who believes that Jesus is
the Son of God [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on that fact]?

1 John 5:11-12
v. 11 And this is that testimony (that evidence): God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His
Son.
v. 12 He who possesses the Son has that life; he who does not possess the Son of God does not
have that life.

Revelation 1:5-6
v. 5 And from Jesus Christ the faithful and trustworthy Witness, the Firstborn of the dead [first to
be brought back to life] and the Prince (Ruler) of the kings of the earth. To Him Who ever loves
us and has once [for all] loosed and freed us from our sins by His own blood,
v. 6 And formed us into a kingdom (a royal race), priests to His God and Father–to Him be the
glory and the power and the majesty and the dominion throughout the ages and forever and ever.
Amen (so be it).
