HOW TO REACH
For air, the nearest airport is Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at
Ahmedabad which is about 170 km from Sardarkrushinagar. For train,
Palanpur (PNU) station which is at a distance of 28 km from Sardarkrushinagar
is the nearest railway station. It is well connected to almost all major cities. For
road journey, Gujarat State Road Transport buses are available from
Ahmedabad to Palanpur (142 km). Participants can avail university bus facility
from Kirti Sthambh, Palanpur from 7:00AM to 10:00 PM to reach University. The
weather condition in SDAU, Sardarkrushinagar during October will be warm
(30-35O C). The nearest pilgrimage place is Ambaji (55 km) and hill station
Mount Abu (Rajasthan) 80 km from Palanpur.
Indian Association of
Veterinary Pathologists (IAVP)
IAVP was founded in March, 1974 during scientific get-together
of Veterinary Pathologists at the Indian Veterinary Research
Institute, Izatnagar, UP. In the country, at that time in the eve of
green revolution, emphasis was largely laid on the necessity of
expanding agricultural education. Almost simultaneously the
scientist in the field of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry faced
challenge on the front of increasing demands for livestock and
poultry production. The assembly of pathologists in the form of
annual conventions and symposia on the current problems in
Veterinary Science was first held at Veterinary College, Bengaluru
in 1983 but became an annual feature only after 1986.
