min. TTW project parts of class expectations specifically, materials needed, basic class
procpdures, and the B.L.U.E.S. acronym, TTW have the students review what each
stands for. TTW take role call after TS are seated. TTW go over BLUES acronym in
detail.
TTW will make introductions of adults in the room (TA and/or student teacher).
TTW show the students the room – including the Daily Learning Goal (whole class will
read it together), Today’s Agenda, Homework, Essential Questions and Curriculum info,
bulletin with calendar and student info, school supplies (TTW go over needed
materials), and where make up work can be found.
For 1A only. TTW distribute papers and go through what needs to be signed and returned.

TTW show the students where items in the room are located.
TTW give the students examples of norms versus rules.

1. Creating Norms
In groups of four, TSW brainstorm ideas on paper for class norms. TSW have 5
minutes to complete this and then groups will share their norms. Groups will be
instructed to limit their lists to 5-7 norms. While groups are sharing, TTW write
down their suggestions. TTW remove any duplicate norms. Finally as a class TS
and TT will reduce the list of norms to 5.
3min. *Closure
TTW do a quick review of where items are located in the room and ask TS final questions
such as, “What is our homework today?” “What are you required to have signed and bring
back (1a only).
