LEARNING OBJECTIVES

M At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to make and respond to suggestions using Let’s.

At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to listen and respond appropriately to their friend’s suggestion with
C visual clues support.
1. Make two teams. A pupil from each team sits on a chair at the front of the class with his/her
back to the board.
I. PRE-LESSON 2. Write a holiday activity on the board. The teams mime to their representative on the chair
for him/her to guess the activity.
3. The team who guesses first gets a point. Continue with other holiday activities.
1. Activity 1:
 Pupils look at Student’s Book page 74 and the first frame of the story.
 Misty says Let’s go in. Use this example to elicit/teach the meaning and use of Let’s … .
2. Activity 2:
 Distribute worksheets. Play the recording. Pupils listen for the answers.
 Check with the class. Say each suggestion and response for pupils to repeat and check
understanding of the responses.
II. LESSON 3. Activity 3:
DEVELOPMENT  Play the suggestion and the three responses for students to repeat and act out.
 Demonstrate the activity for the class and then give practice in open pairs.
 Pupils take turns to act out and respond in closed pairs.
e.g. A: Let’s play football. B: Sorry, I don’t want to.
4. Activity 4:
 Distribute worksheets.
 Activity 1: Pupils complete the sentences with the words.
 Activity 2: Pupils match the pictures with the dialogues in Act 1 and number the
pictures.
1. Make some suggestions for ending the lesson, e.g. Let’s play a game. Let’s read a story.
