2) Different Type of Disks:-

Information is always stored on disk surface in a series of concentric

circles, called “Track”. Each track is further divided into segments called
“Sector”. Each track is divided into 8 parts. This process of dividing the
disk into tracks and sectors is called “Formatting of Disk”. Any disk has to
be first formatted before writing any information to it. Data are recorded
on the tracks of a spinning disk surface.
