Auto-Tune Evo 6.

09 VST PC Notes

Thank you for purchasing or evaluating Auto-Tune Evo VST for PC. While the
Owner's Manual contains all the platform-independent information you'll need to
get the full benefit of Auto-Tune Evo (and we really encourage you to read it),
this file includes specific installation and use issues unique to the VST PC
version.

INSTALLATION

The Auto-Tune Evo VST installer will automatically install the plug-in, along with
all documentation, in Program Files/Antares Audio Technologies/Auto-Tune Evo
VST. Additionally, it will install a copy of the plug-in in the folder specified by
the standard vstplugins path, if such folder exists. After installation, you will be
requested to reboot your computer. If you need the plug-in in any other
location, you can manually copy it from the Auto-Tune Evo VST folder to the
required location.

AUTHORIZATION

Authorization is the process by which this software is allowed to run on your

computer. Detailed instructions covering the available authorization options will
be found in the file “Authorization Read Me” which is included on the installation
CD ROM or with your software download.

NOTE: When initially installed, this software will run for ten days without
authorization.

So even if you can‘t authorize it right away you can still use your software in
the meantime. (During this period, click the “Continue” button whenever you
are presented with the Trial Period screen at launch.) But don’t procrastinate
too long. After those ten days are up, you will no longer be able to launch this
software until it’s authorized.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE

It is critical to note that Auto-Tune Evo will NOT open sessions created with
Auto-Tune 5 or earlier. The improvements made to the core technology are so
extensive that it just won't work. For that reason, we have configured Auto-
Tune Evo such that it and Auto-Tune 5 can be active in your DAW
simultaneously. Furthermore, your Auto-Tune Evo authorization includes a
linked authorization for Auto-Tune 5.

However, it’s also important to note that we will not be releasing future updates
to Auto-Tune 5, so it is inevitable that between computer OS advancements
and host updates, Auto-Tune 5 will eventually stop working.

If you have current saved sessions with instances of Auto-Tune 5 that you may
need to access into the indefinite future, we offer the following suggestions:

• If you are satisfied with the current Auto-Tune 5 settings, use whatever
method your host offers (bouncing, offline editing, etc.) to permanently render
the corrected tracks.

• If you believe you will need to keep editing into the future, remove the
instances of Auto-Tune 5 and replace them with instances of Auto-Tune Evo.

WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 6.09

• Improved pitch detection of higher-pitched notes.

• New installers and PACE software (version 5.8.10.3223) to fix installation and
authorization issues, particularly in 64-bit Vista.

• Fixed a problem where Nudge Up or Down would sometimes result in

horizontal movement as well.

• Fixed a problem with incorrect zoom range after tracking pitch in a long song.

• Fixed crashing bug occasionally seen when using drawing tools.

• Fixed crashing bug occasionally seen when using Undo button.

• Fixed problem of selection highlights vanishing when using the Scissor tool
close to a line or curve endpoint.

• Added hours field to the clock display (when time passes the one-hour mark).

• Fixed a memory leak in the Scissor tool.

WHAT WAS NEW IN VERSION 6.07

• Added a new Options dialog checkbox to turn on or off the display of the
Output Pitch Curve (i.e., the green curve). Added the ability to assign a key to
toggle this state in the Key Binding options.
• Added the ability to respond to the QWERTY number keys in SONAR and
SoundForge, thereby enabling the Key Binding functions.

• Disabled auto-scrolling in Graphical Mode while using one of the graphical

editing tools (e.g., drawing a curve by hand).

• Added the following settings to the saved session data: undo stack and zoom
state in Graphical Mode.

SUPPORTED VST HOSTS

While we have tested Auto-Tune Evo with most major VST hosts, given the
huge variety of available hosts, we can not guarantee that Auto-Tune Evo will
function properly in every one. For the current list of supported hosts, consult
our online Knowledgebase.

USE CUBASE 4.13 OR LATER

There is a possible hang when loading a saved session on some earlier versions
of Cubase. This problem was corrected in Cubase 4.13. So you should update to
the latest version. Really.

INTERNAL CLOCK FOR OFFLINE PROCESSING

In Cubase and Nuendo, you must select Internal Clock when using Graphical
Mode in offline processing.

GRAPHICAL MODE SYNC IN SONAR AND ABLETON LIVE

In Sonar and Ableton Live, changing the playback location while the transport is
playing will cause loss of sync in Graphical Mode. To maintain sync, stop the
transport, move to the desired location, and put the transport back into play.

MINIMUM WINDOW SIZE

When selecting a window size in the Options Menu, if you try to set a size
smaller than the minimum window size, the values will automatically default to
the minimum size.

GRAPHICAL MODE POSITION INDICATOR SYNC

In some hosts, the audio playback will lag slightly behind the graphical position
indicator. This is an artifact of some host and/or hardware combinations and is
out of our control. It is a cosmetic issue only.

RECALLING SAVED PRESETS IN SONAR

When recalling a saved preset in SONAR, it is necessary to close and then reopen
the plug-in window to ensure that the GUI is properly redrawn.

COMPATIBILITY WITH 64-BIT OS

Auto-Tune Evo has not been qualified for use in a 64-bit OS. However, there is
an installation process documented in our Knowledgebase that we have found
to be successful in most instances. Check the Knowledgebase for details.

MODIFIER KEYS

The following modifier keys are active in Auto-Tune Evo in various VST hosts:

Shift - Toggles Snap-To-Note state in Graphical Mode. Toggles Momentary state

in Automatic Mode
Control - Allows free movement of correction curves in Graphical Mode. Toggles
Magnifying Glass function (+/-) in Graphical Mode
1 - 0 - Graphical Mode function selection (QWERTY keys only)
Control - Cut, Copy, Paste, Undo and Redo

Note: Due to Ableton Live's handling of keyboard input, the use of number keys
for Graphical Mode function selection does not function in those hosts.
