Heirs of the charism of the Word

Hello everyone!
Yesterday, after a well-deserved rest – free day – we resumed our day of work.
We were encouraged by a heartwarming visit this morning in the Eucharist: Mons. Luis Ángel of the Heras
Berzal, cmf, Bishop of Mondoñedo-Ferrol, in charge of the New Forms of Consecrated Life (NFCL) in the Bishop’s
Conference of Spain, who asked to know us as a NFCL. What better occasion than the present Congress where we
are representatives of FMVD of the five continents?

Mons. Luis Ángel reminded us in the homily, that we

have been called for the Mininsty of the Word and
that this is a very big gift for which we should be full
of joy in the middle of the difficulties. He told us that
when we receive the Ministry of the Word we see
that it is salvation for others, that is effective even in
those who are more rebellious and reticent. Alluding
to today’s gospel – the parable of the sewer - , he
commented that “the Word transforms and invites us
to martyrdom, makes the grain of wheat die in order
to live and that we need to die and die content.” As
heirs of the charism and open to the dynamism of the
Spirit, he asked us if we are ready to bring this gift to
the world.

After the Eucharist, the Bishop of Mondoñedo wanted to have a small dialogue with the members of the Congress,
but due to the shortness of time, he gave a short and substantial message for the FMVD, where he pointed out that
the NFCL have not come to abolish anything but to enrich the Church with our charisms. He pointed out the
importance of not remaining in self-referentiality, but to open ourselves to give the gift of what we have received; he
warned us about the temptations of fatigue and hopelessness and invited us to maintain communion in order to be
faithful to the Holy Spirit; in regards to this, he asked that from the local churches, where we are, that we be in
communion with the Universal Church. After this gathering Monsignor had breakfast with us. We appreciate his
interest to know us.
 At the start of the first working session, we
organized ourselves for the voting of the proposals of
the commission of ecclesiality, in such a way that
afterwards we can see those that we need to discuss in
the plenary.
From the second to the last session in the
afternoon, we continued with a very interesting
dialogue about the proposals related to the theme of
the government.

We continue to count on your prayers for this 5th Congress, so that every day there can be faithful listening
and openness to the dynamism of the Holy Spirit.
