Notes: Some verbs go with both gerund and infinitive with different meanings

+ Stop to do something  pause to do another.

Eg. He stopped to have a rest because he felt tired.

+ Stop doing something: stop and don’t do that any more

Eg. He stopped smoking because it is dangerous.

+ Remember to do something: remember something you have to do

Eg. Remember to turn off the lights when you leave.

+ Remember doing something: remember something you did in the past

Eg. I’m sure I locked the door. I remembered locking it.

+try to do something: you do your best to do something

Eg. He tried to learn well for the exam

+ try doing something: you try something

Eg. Try eating some strange foods.
