Lokasi penelitian secara administratif termasuk ke dalam wilayah

Kecamatan Tamalate Kota Makassar Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Secara geografis
daerah penelitian ini terletak pada koordinat 119°22'16''-119°24'16'' Bujur Timur
(BT) dan 05°10'00''– 05°12'00'' Lintang Selatan (LS).
Maksud dari penelitian ini yaitu melakukan studi mengenai karakteristik
serta pengaruh tekstur mineral yang terdapat pada Delta Sungai Jeneberang
berdasarkan pembebanan mekanis dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan
karakteristik mineral yang terkandung dalam material sedimen Delta Sungai
Jeneberang serta untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembebanan CBR (California
Bearing Ratio) terhadap mineral sedimen.
Hasil pengamatan terhadap endapan sedimen Delta Sungai Jeneberang
memperlihatkan komposisi mineral antara lain berupa mineral kuarsa, biotit,
ortoklas, piroksin, plagioklas, hornblende dan mineral opak. Berdasarkan hasil
pengamatan smear slide dan sayatan tipis , masing – masing mineral memiliki
ukuran butir fine sand – coarse sand, dengan tingkat kebundaran rounded –
subrounded , serta kondisi mineral setelah pembebanan CBR yang mengalami
pecah, terbelah hingga hancur.
Dapat diasumsikan bahwa proses pembebanan CBR yang diberikan
terhadap masing-masing conto sedimen memberikan pengaruh terhadap ukuran
butir, derajat kebundaraan, komposisi mineral, serta kondisi fisik mineral sedimen
pada Delta sungai Jeneberang.

 ABSTRACT

Research location is administratively included into the District of

Tamalate of Makassar, South Sulawesi Province. Geographically study area is
located at coordinates 119 ° 22'16 '' - 119 ° 24'16 '' East Longitude (BT) and 05 °
10'00 '' - 05 ° 12'00 '' South Latitude (LS).
The purpose of this research is to study the characteristics and effects of
texture mineral found in river Deltas Jeneberang by loading mechanical in order
to determine the type and characteristics of the minerals contained in the
sediment material river Delta Jeneberang as well as to determine the effect of
loading CBR (California Bearing Ratio) of the mineral sediments.
The observation of the river delta sediments Jeneberang shows the
composition of minerals include minerals such as quartz, biotite, orthoclase,
piroksin, plagioclase, hornblende and opaque minerals . Based on observations
smear slides and thin section, each mineral has a grain size of fine sand - coarse
sand, with a degree of roundness is subrounded - rounded and conditions of
mineral is broken, split and shattered.
It can be interpreted that the imposition of CBR given to each of the
samples of sediment influence on the grain size, roundness, mineral composition
an phisically condition of sediments in the river delta Jeneberang.
