World development report 2018 has addressed few immediate challenges in quality of
education. our recent flagship scheme samagra siksha abhiyan seem to have rightly
addressed those problem as this is an integrated scheme for school education extending
support to state from pre -school to secondary school .As the name suggest it sees the
school education holistically without segmenting it into various level of education .
salient features of this scheme are -
1)focus on teacher training and augmenting them with the access to "DIKSHA" a national
digital platform for teachers with high quality learning material thus improving the quality of
education by integrating teachers with technology
2)redesign the concept of education for student learning and bring a shift from content
based learning to competencies.
3)endeavour by government to equip our students with allround skills -academic.extra
curricular,vocational .
4)this scheme is backed by sufficient budget which is more than all the three previous
schemes ( SSA, RMSA and Teacher Education)
5)library grant for each school would help to bring a culture f debate and participation
among students
9)online project monitoring to measure progress against target and monitor process of
implementation of various interventions of integrated scheme .
thus it can be concluded that this is a step to completely overhaul the existing scheme in
school education and to improve the quality of education by bringing together all the stake
holders on the same platform .The scheme is also a step toward digital literacy as e board
and tele -education will help to enhance both the curiosity and an environment of asking
questions about the subjects . But overall success of scheme depends upon the
implementation
