MATERIALS
Acetone
Cigarette filter
Plastic cup
Spoon
PROCEDURE
1. Gather raw materials.
2. Separate cigarette filter from the cigarette paper and put it in a cup.
3. Put a 1.5ml acetone and pour it in the cup with 1 piece of cigarette filter.
4. Stir the filter with acetone.
5. Once it smoothens, the paste is produced and used.
DISCUSSION OF RESULTS
The ratio that was used was 1 cigarette filter to 1.5 ml of acetone. It was observed that the
duration of drying was faster than the commercial branded glues.
Once the filter and acetone is mixed, the paste should be used right away since it dries fast.
The paste from cigarette filter was able to meet the standard properties of a commercial branded
paste. Thus, cigarette filters contain chemical components that are good, making them a
promising substitute from the commercial pastes.
